I see myself forced to ask for arbitration regarding User:Antifinnugor. The nature of the dispute, as well as evidence of resolution attempts, are all referenced in his rfc. The state of affairs is reflected in his latest edit. This request naturally includes a request for a judgement of my own behaviour, since my involvement in this case is motivated by the wish to defend WP policy, and if criticised by the committee, I would immediately step down, and of my own accord put my adminship on RFA to be reconfirmed. dab (ᛏ) 12:05, 6 Jan 2005 (UTC)

re mediation, there was no official mediation, but the rfc was not opened by me, and certified by ten people, and when afu started to single me out, there were various attempts at mediation, notably by User:Mark Dingemanse e.g. [1] [2] [3], which were ignored without exception. I think it would be a waste of time for everybody to add an additional loop to this. Also, in case the above is misleading, I do not ask for arbitration on afu's attacks against me in particular, but on his behaviour in general, about which he has been patiently approached by at least five editors (I only being one among them), without the slightest effect. dab (ᛏ) 14:02, 6 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Comment summarizing Evidence writeup: Many editors have wasted many hours trying to explain to this user both the most basic principles of WP and of historical linguistics, without the slightest success. Afu by all appearance honestly believes to be a victim of a political conspiracy. Such drawn-out nonsense harms WP, driving away good editors. This rfar is an appeal to find more efficient ways to deal with such cases, and to seek approval (or criticism) from the arbcom on how the editors involved have dealt with the case. Comment on attempts to help Antifinnugor navigate the RfAr process: Everybody involved is conscious of Antifinnugor's non-native English and limited familiarity with en.wikipedia processes, and nobody has tried to entrap or game him. Several editors, especially Nyenyec, have tried in good faith to help him argue his case more effectively in the RfC and RfAr process, please see Evidence page for details. Both Nyenyec and I wrote to afu yesterday/today, with detailed advice about how best to defend himself. Speaking for myself, I spent a lot of time trying to put this advice into palatable, accessible, and helpful form, but Afu quickly deleted the messages from his talk page without comment. His attitude seems to have grown more intransigent rather than less (he has previously, uniquely, always been civil to me), and I'm tired of trying to help him. He needn't have been this alone in navigating the mysteries of the RfAr process if he hadn't chosen to be.--Bishonen | Talk 14:51, 15 Jan 2005 (UTC)

1.1) For significant disruption relating to the articles Finno-Ugric languages and Uralic languages, Antifinnugor is banned from editing these or related articles for one year. Antifinnugor may edit the related talk pages and is encouraged to work with other editors regarding article content. Other editors may add content and make changes suggested by Antifinnugor at their discretion.

4.1) Antifinnugor is placed on standard personal attack parole for one year: if Antifinnugor makes an edit which is judged by an administrator to be a personal attack, he may be temporarily banned for up to a week by that administrator and the parole timer shall be reset.
