Opera spelling[edit]

Prigoniero is indeed correct, though some reference might have been provided (since Dallapiccola might have been opting for a truncated spelling himself, as has been known to happen). Here's one of many - BBC Opera On 3 (from 2004). (Articles on the work also use the spelling with two 'i's, by a factor of some 500 to 1 in google hits; I suspect without knowing for certain that a check of the manuscript would confirm, though it's ultimately worth knowing, on the Ivesian "The wrong notes are right!!!" principle which applies of course even to more conservative composers as Mr. Dallapiccola!) Dodecaphony in Italy[edit]
