Manny Calavera[edit]

I'd love to take credit for the bit about the Monkey Island cameo, but that was already in the article. I just reworded it a little. - DynSkeet

Vandalism[edit]

Sorry for the misunderstanding... the comment about vandalism on my talk page was in response to something else. Someone vandalized my page, and I had thanked the admin who repaired the damage. -DynSkeet 12:03, Apr 12, 2005 (UTC)

Stubbing[edit]

Good to see someone else doing some stub sorting too - keep up the good work! :) Grutness|hello? 03:46, 27 Apr 2005 (UTC)

bed sheet[edit]

haha, i knew that was annoying everyone, it had been there for ages, but not as long as that bloody farewell speech, which i see you put as poitical! nice one Bluemoose 07:39, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Hi Blunderbuss - just noticed you've stubbed the article Dichtung und Wahrheit as a german-bio-stub. It should be a book-stub... bio-stubs are for articles that are biographies (that is, articles about people), not articles about biographies (which are books)! Grutness|hello? 01:04, 1 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Heh. You're right about the problems of trying to sift several stubs at the same time. I've several times caught myself putting UK-geo-stub on UK-bio-stubs, or found my fingers accidentally putting US rather than UK... Grutness|hello?

Clueless in Oklahoma[edit]

I just now noticed your May 9 addition to my talk page:

Thanks for the positive feedback, I appreciate it. I do, however, have a question. Is this just your own way of showing appreciation for contributions (reminds me a lot of movie reviews you find on the back of the DVD box), or is this some common Wikicultural technique of which I am not aware? I spend all my Wiki time reading article threads (I was the type who could spend hours looking up an article in an encyclopedia, and end up with all the volumes out on the table, open to different articles, and still not make it to the one I started for) and no time at all in the community pages, so I'm sure I'm missing out on a bunch of culture (and probably etiquette)... scot 21:10, 1 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Ouch. Not that there was an non-painful way to tell me that... I told you I was clueless. Being a software engineer, I like languages that are nice and regular with their rules, and English is very much not regular (I place most of the blame for that on the Normans, who forced a Latin grammer on a Germanic language). I'll try to remember in the future that while trailing consonants are doubled with a suffix (pat->patted) that the same doesn't apply to prefixes (commend -/> reccomend). Maybe I should start listing my primary language as " C" rather than English... scot 14:53, 2 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
