Add a sentence as being featured in Seinfeld Season 3 Episode 19. Seinfeld donates to a charity relif fund for the Krakatoans to impress his date. and is quoted as saying:

Kramer: I'm sorry. I thought it was a legitimate charity. I didn't know you'd get audited Jerry: What was I supposed to do? You knew I was on my first date with Elaine. You come barging in here asking me to contribute money for a volcano relief fund for Krakatoa! Kramer: It was supposed to erupt. JERRY: Those brave Krakatoans East of Java. who sacrifice so much for so long.

There's an episode of 'One step beyond' about a newspaper reporter who hears 4 explosions, loses conscious, and awakes to discover that he's reported the eruption before the news has even reached the US. The programme claims that the story is true.

I thought that was the point of the Popular Culture entries. Why is One Step Beyond any less valid than Seinfeld, Spongebob Squarepants, or an album track by Saxon?

Per MOS:POPCULT, it would need reliable sources showing that it's culturally relevant; if the only thing we can verify through reliable sources is that it was merely in the episode, that's trivia. Are there sources that have in-depth coverage of Krakatoa being mentioned in this episode? - Aoidh (talk) 13:52, 16 January 2023 (UTC)

Deke42 Those Trivia sections have been the bane of Wikipedia since its inception, due in large part to people unable to discern the difference between mere mentions, some indication of relevance to the article subject; and actual substantive coverage of said inclusions (see Aoidh's comment above). Most of these sections have been weeded out over the years, unfortunately, the Pop Culture sections have endured (just because sometimes there is actually justification for the entries there). Your factoid may just survive, so be BOLD and add it if you think it is important enough—it certainly beats Spongebob, that's for sure. Just don't get too attached to the addition or upset if it gets removed. You will need Reliable Sourcing for it to even have a chance at surviving though.
