Source for character[edit]

In a Boston Globe interview I can not find right now I remember Bob Montana saying that his source for the character was a friend in Massacusetts who was very refined but not exceedingly rich who was the daughter of a Bulgarian immigrant dentist. Peers chosen due to finances?[edit]

she chooses to hang out with her poorer friends instead, in part to try to conquer Archies love.

The above statement neglects Veronica's on-going relationship with Reggie Mantle, who is clearly of more substantial means than Veronica's other peers. His car makes Archie's look like a jalopy (hmm, Archie's care is a jalopy!). --Ed Poor
