Infantry[edit]

The table at the top of the article mentions that Alexander's army had 5000 infantry, while the article mentions 50,000 infantry. Which is the correct number? --ashwatha 19:45, 23 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Remove this sentence or add citation: "Porus's soldiers were dressed in flamboyantly hued outfits with steel helmets, bright scarves and baldrics, and wielded axes, lances and maces."

There is no mention of "steel helmets" etc. in any of the five major sources for Alexander's battles (Arrian, Plutarch, Diodorus Siculus, Quintus Curtius Rufus, and Justin) VizBos (talk) 19:14, 19 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now: The paragraph does have a provided source. However, what's provided is an entire book without specified pages for the specific assertions in the paragraph. So I've added a "Citation Needed" tag. -- Pinchme123 (talk) 03:19, 26 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
