Untitled[edit]

Lefkow was judge over many controversal cases but Viriditas insists on spreading unfounded libelous and unencyclopedia speculation that Matt Hale is responsible for the killings of Lefkow's family members. Matt Hale has condemned the killings. Viriditas the bully refuses to fix the article or let anyone else fix it too. --Powergrid 14:16, 4 Mar 2005 (UTC)

"Hale is not the only person to have a grudge with the judge, Kramer said.Daniel Salley, who shot a Chicago police officer in 2001, screamed at Lefkow in court, calling her a "devil worshipper."Salley yelled, "You reap what you have sown, you ungodly, lying (expletive)." Lefkow has also presided over dozens of gun, gang and drug convictions, including some current cases on her schedule this week. She has been under federal protection in the past. The judge has ruled as well on big business cases, like last month's $700,000 trademark ruling against Ty Beanie Babies. Investigators said they will examine all of Lefkow's cases and also pursue other avenues. But for the moment, answers in the whodunit are few." [1]

Aloha. I understand that you are a new user, but you have been asked three separate times to review policy on your talk page (unfortunately you removed two of those comments with edit summaries, Fuck you, you shit-eating asshole and Removing fecal matter). Wikipedia policies are the social glue that make this site function. Please take the time to review these policies and pay particular attention to Policies and Guidelines, Neutral point of view, No personal attacks, and Civility. In response to your latest attack, I have not "spread unfounded libelous and unencyclopedia speculation". I suggest that you refrain from personal attacks and stick to improving the quality of the articles. In reference to the topic at hand, authorities are pursuing all leads at this time. I encourage you to adopt a NPOV and add any cited information to this article (and Matthew F. Hale) so that all views are represented. As an example, I would be especially interested in adding the opinions of Hale's parents to his page. As long as you stick to brief statements of summarized fact and good citations, there shouldn't be any problems. The problem before, was that you were deleting cited information. There is nothing stopping you from adding further information to balance out the article. Thanks for bringing this issue to my attention. --Viriditas | Talk 21:39, 4 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Near the end of the article a bunch of dates in March are listed, which I presume are in 2005 but I think you should indicate the year to make it more clear, especially when starting a new paragraph. --65.115.107.3 17:02, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bot-created subpage[edit]

A temporary subpage at User:Polbot/fjc/Joan Humphrey Lefkow was automatically created by a perl script, based on this article at the Biographical Directory of Federal Judges. The subpage should either be merged into this article, or moved and disambiguated. Polbot (talk) 03:05, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Vague sentence[edit]

This sentence:

In January 2002, Lefkow ruled in favor of Hale, but her decision was overturned on appeal.

stands alone and there is no elucidation of it. E.g.: which court over-turned it? What were the grounds for the appeal? What was the rationale for the reversal? Why is there no case site in a footnote? It leaves the reader wondering all of these questions, providing no answers to any of them. The implication, to those familiar with Legalese, is that the case was remanded to Lefkow for reconsideration. But without the aforementioned questions being answered, how is the reader to know?

Additionally, as tagged, this article is of poor quality and badly needs a complete rewrite. Even the footnotes, as fragmentary as they are, are in a non-Wikipedia standard format.
