Welcome!

Hello, Soredewa, Welcome to Wikipedia!
I hope you like working here and want to continue. If you need help on how to name new articles, look at Naming Conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the Manual of Style. If you need general help, look at Help and the FAQ, and if you can't find your answer there, check the Village pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions). There's still more help at the Tutorial and the Policy Library. Also, don't forget to visit the Community Portal — and if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my New-Users' Talk Page.
Additional tips:
Here are some extra tips to help you get around Wikipedia:
  • If you made any edits before you got an account, you might be interested in assigning those to your username.
  • If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills, try the Sandbox.
  • Click on the Edit button on a page, and look at how other editors did what they did.
  • You can sign your name using three tildes, like this: ~~~. If you use four, you can add a datestamp too. Always sign comments on Talk pages, never sign Articles.
  • You might want to add yourself to the New User Log
  • If your first language isn't English, try Wikipedia:Contributing to articles outside your native language
Happy editing!

Nagoya airport[edit]

Can you explain this edit? What does Prefectural mean? Burgundavia 04:35, Apr 16, 2005 (UTC)

I am busy[edit]

I have got a new job and I cannot edit Wikipedia often. Sorry. Please don't mind to edit articles I wrote. Soredewa 12:17, 2005 Apr 21 (UTC)

Soredewa, thank you for adding that comment about eastern Musashi to Tobu Railway. I started the article, but forgot to write it. I also started Nambu Line and wrote something similar there (but was not logged in, or maybe that was before I got a user name). Fg2 10:12, May 2, 2005 (UTC)

Hey Soredewa. I noticed that you changed the 'ja' to 'jp' on the Tobu page. I agree with you that 'jp' seems more correct but on wiki they seem to be using a different standard?? Check out your User:Soredewa page where it says your ja level is 母語 : )  freshgavin TALK   01:44, 9 November 2005 (UTC) I did not touch the language symbols. I try to distinguish ja (language) from JP (country.)[reply]

My mistake, you changed it from 'jp' to 'ja', not the other way around. Never mind then : ).  freshgavin TALK   06:45, 10 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your recent comments on my talk page regarding the Meiji University alumni list. I see your point; I did not think about the fact that there must be a great many alumni who could be added to the list who are of greater prominence than Hon. Rep. Hagiuda. It appears his name was added by one of his employees. All the best, Wachholder0 15:29, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Politics section of Saitama[edit]

Hi

Very good that it is clearifyed that the mayor has excetutive powers and that he correctly is the one in power. However, adding the text about the Local Autonomy Law on all japanese city articles with a poltics section would be a bad idea, we need to find out how to get the information out without saying the same thing on every page. --Jonte-- 20:31, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I wrote it in mayor#Japan but many outsiders do not know how strong Japanese heads of local governments are. How about replacing "mayor" with "directly-elected, executive mayor#Japan"? Soredewa 11:33, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adding that might be a good idea, but it still sounds as an article about the mayoral system. Anyway, I'll think some more about it. --Jonte-- 18:20, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
May be wierd but better than mislead. Soredewa 06:06, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am considering moving the article to "Independent station (North America)", to isolate the original main focus of the article, which was non-network affiliated stations in the U.S. and Canada.

Seeing as Japanese television (and all TV outside of North America, for that matter) works under a completely different set of rules and such, I have never felt your inclusion of that information belonged in this article as it was presently written and structured. But I will not remove it; rather I am informing you of this proposed move first before I proceed. Rollosmokes 05:58, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Soredewa-san, thank you so much for your corrections to this article. I do not (yet) know Japanese, but it is my goal to get to Japan to live and work soon. I appreciate your cleaning up that article, and I look forward to working with you here!

Also, might you know where I can get my name put into Katakana? It would help me to learn if I could write my own name. Thank you again, your new friend, Chris 02:36, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much! It seems you also believe that I will soon be in Japan! :) Chris 06:13, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
