  • Keep. Dunk
  • Funny. But useless, and not likely to be particularly expandable. Ambivalenthysteria 04:17, 27 Mar 2004 (UTC)

    • Keep. RichL has done an excellent job improving it. -- Friedo 03:29, 29 Mar 2004 (UTC)

    • Keep. It has been greatly improved. It's not the greatest subject for an article, but that exploding sheep keep showing up must mean something, as Cyrius points out. It would be a great help to the article if we can find some analysis of exploding sheep by a modern folklorist. Jacob1207 17:07, 29 Mar 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. I would have said delete when I read the name, but if someone was able to come up with five actual examples, it's some kind of trend. MK 16:42, 27 Mar 2004 (UTC)
  • I started this article, because it is a seemingly esoteric phenomenon that, nonetheless, has featured in a few unrelated computer games, and also in the novel Before and After by Matthew Thomas (the blurb makes prominent reference to the exploding sheep gimmick, and the front cover even features a picture of a sheep, albeit in an unexploded state). However it may not be as much of a 'cult' thing as I had assumed, so delete it if you want. :) 62.64.227.10 17:50, 27 Mar 2004 (UTC)
  • No Vote. Didn't Dave Berry do an article (or series) about reports of exploding sheep? -Rholton 23:53, 27 Mar 2004 (UTC)
  • Amusing, and there's five of them. Seems a notable enough in-joke in the game development world to keep. PMC 03:02, 28 Mar 2004 (UTC)
  • Six now. I added the hidden feature from Sim Golf. MK 04:15, 28 Mar 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete, unless someone can explain how exploding sheep are somehow important in game creation (a reference, why it's done, etc), to give it some encyclopedic credence.
  • I'm a bit ambivalent now. On the one hand, it's a really stupid thing to have a page for. On the other, it seems that it must mean something that it keeps showing up in games by different developers. Does anybody know of any similar strangeness? -- Cyrius | Talk 04:52, Mar 28, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep - Looks like the phenomenon began with the 1989 Peter Jackson movie Bad Taste. I can see that being a sufficiently culty classic to launch a meme. I'd like to refactor, starting with the movie and touching on the (1999) novel, and move to, say Sheep (exploding) or Exploding sheep with a real (if short) article instead of just a list, but I don't know about moving a VfD page. Exploding sheep is definitely bigger than just computer games, in any case. RichL 04:56, 28 Mar 2004 (UTC)
    • If anyone can actually manage to write a serious article explaining why exploding sheep has become a cultural meme, then I'd agree with the redirect. Average Earthman 12:09, 28 Mar 2004 (UTC)
    • I've done a first effort at a serious article about exploding sheep as a cultural meme (now at Exploding sheep). Better? :) — RichL 01:50, 29 Mar 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Perfectly encyclopedic and exceptionally interesting. — Timwi 02:06, 29 Mar 2004 (UTC)
  • I'm going to regret this later, but keep the new Exploding sheep article. -- Cyrius | Talk 02:07, Mar 29, 2004 (UTC)
  • Sure, keep. The new article has merit in its own way. ;) — Nyxie 02:25, 29 Mar 2004 (UTC)
  • Fixed. Keep. Angela. 04:02, Mar 29, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. This is now brilliant. I'm not too sure we need the redirect, but that's not a VfD matter. Andrewa 00:01, 30 Mar 2004 (UTC)
  • Sheep. I mean, keep. Denni 00:56, 2004 Mar 30 (UTC)
  • Keep. I didn't think you could do an article this good on this wierd a topic. This is nearly featured article material! (at the least, it belongs on Wikipedia:Unusual articles) --zandperl 04:33, 30 Mar 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete, it's just a bunch of nonsese. --Rcb 00:46, 31 Mar 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Under its new title, its a discussion of a real cultural phenomenon. We shouldn't delete it just because its a silly phenomenon. Warofdreams 18:16, 31 Mar 2004 (UTC)
