Is this really all there is to say about Haile Selassie? That the man was emperor of one of the oldest kingdoms in the world, that he stood up to fascist Italy, gave an impassioned plea for his country to the League of Nations, and eventually saw its independence restored ... The name of the book eludes me for the moment, but are we also ignoring a fascinating account of the corruption in his court, which preserved a kind of African feudalism well into the twentieth century? In short, Haile Selassie (Ras Tafari Mekonnen) was one of the most prominent and intriguing figures in 20th century African history. It seems a pity to sum his life story up with a quote from some reggae band. And, to say that some people in Ethiopia still think he is alive is misleading. You probably mean Jamaica here. There are very few, if any Rastafarians in Ethiopia. Danny

My dear children I am dissapointed will all of ya. I didn't mean Jamaica in no way. I meant Ethiopia and I won't argue about that at all. I don't smoke ganja at, I don't wear dread locks all but I can't hide some of my believes towards Ras Tafari. How the heck you think that his Emperor's name should be the main article on him. He was at first Ras Tafari (The Abesinian Prince of Peace) and Haile Selassie is adopted name almost in the same manner as we use nicks today. You will say that The Holly Trinity signs to his origin or something like that. I even won't look up for my initial words on him 'cause there's no sence. You can write and believe what ya want. And if there wasn't some reggae bands my dear friend Danny you won't even hear of him. For that old people from Ethiopia one can read in the above reference [1] - this sayings are not my inventions. Someone said this is not a Rastafarian encyclopedia. Who says it is? Respect effort from people who try to say something. All ya - don't invent another Russell's paradoxes, please. Let Jah work be done.
