Created stub. Will expand into a full article as time allows. Also need a better title. --L. 16:31, 6 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Core dump of info. Have decided to combine both books into one article because it is difficult to refer to "Middletown" without referring to both of these books. --L. 14:15, 11 Apr 2005 (UTC)

  • I added a bibliographic reference. RJensen Rjensen 08:23, 11 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • I am adding some of the original language used by the Lynds in their first study Middletown: A Study in Modern American Culture and some additional information based on what they said they were doing. Also a bit from the original intro by Clark Wissler, a very distinguished anthropologist.--samivel 19:53, 2 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Criticism[edit]

While it's very important to have a criticism section, and no doubt much of what's here is valid, it's uncited, and if it doesn't get some citations soon the more tendentious parts probably need pruning. DavidOaks (talk) 17:47, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Title of Middletown ?[edit]

The article have to variants of "Middletown: A Study in Modern American Culture" and "Middletown: A Study in American Culture" Libris (Swedish concatenated catalog se https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LIBRIS) has a third title: "Middletown : a study in contemporary American culture " (it also have the title "Middletown: A Study in American Culture") (http://libris.kb.se/hitlist?q=Lynd%2C+Robert+Staughton&r=;pers:(Lynd+Robert+Staughton)&p=1&f=simp&g=&s=r&t=v&m=50&d=libris) Some confusion?
