Company Propoganda?[edit]

It looks to me as if the people at spencer's took away the NPOV... just look at the second paragraph The Hemogoblin 01:37, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A new user replaced the previous version with a copyvio from http://company.monster.com/spencerg/. I have reverted back. I wouldn't assume whoever made the edits is affiliated with the company. szyslak (t, c) 02:08, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Demographic Disputed?[edit]

The article states that the demographic targeted by Spencer's is disputed and directs to the talk page, but there is nothing here on that topic. Spencer's employee training documents teach new hires that the target demographic is "Jack and Nikki," 18-24 year olds with a sense of humor who like to party and have an irreverent view of life, though it goes on to say that anyone can be a Jack or Nikki if they are young at heart. I've had no luck digging up copies of any official documents online, however, so perhaps someone who is a greater master of the search engine than me could take a look? Purchasing Discretion[edit]

The article suggests that Spencer's applies an age policy regarding who can see and buy certain items (explicit, adult toys, etc.) by checking for identification. However being a former employer and working for the company throughout the scandal on the news, I am very familiar with the policies. Not only in my specific store but i am aware that in the entire region we are part of the company made very clear that Spencer's will not enforce an age policy and nevertheless I.D. checks. It is solely based on the guests maturity level and the employees judgement, most of the explicit items are mainly in the back of the store but not necessarily true since some can be found throughout the store, however when it becomes evident that small children or just certain guests in general lack the sensibleness around the items or at the moment of purchase than employees may intervene.
