What is cluster fuck ?

A cluster fuck is originally a military term. It's when you don't know who's fucking who, but everyone gets fucked in the end -- basically, a really confusing and complex situation which will benefit no one when it is over. Tokerboy
and so it is now defined!, at w:cluster fuck.
a classic situation where an w:idiom dictionary is required, and a good example of why it's hard to explain these things without a defining vocabulary.
idioms are confusing all the time to me. It's embarassing to ask all the time. No explanation can be found anywhere. I can't count the number of times where I wrote "What does blablabla means" in google, in hope it picks up some forum discussion where somebody asked. For a non-english, an idiom dictionary is way more important than *any* dictionary. But the idiom dictionary could benefit from being *here*, for most idioms have backgrounds which are both interesting and helpful to remember the actual meaning of the idiom. Plus, them being linked to real uses is helpful to understand them, and later use them ourselves. I understand the need to limit the amount of vocabulary used for understanding, but imho, idioms should not be merely put in the dictionary for the reasons stated above.

I have no idea what this page is about. What does it mean? -- Tarquin 09:47 Jan 13, 2003 (UTC)
