Objectify[edit]

I'm unsure whether to do a link to object (computer science) at the first mention of 'object'. -- towo 15:55, 2004 Jun 19 (UTC)

Done. -- Heptite (T) (C) (@) 21:16, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And I'm changing it to "name" or "symbol". Object is either too specific (if you think of a class instance) or non-specific (a "thing"). JöG 13:12, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ctags variants[edit]

I've added sections for etags (from Emacs) which needs expansion, and Exuberant Ctags. I don't know if there are others but if there are they need to be added. Also it might be helpful to have some specific information on the original ctags utility. -- Heptite (T) (C) (@) 21:16, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

List of editors[edit]

is it really necessary to list a bunch of editors supporting ctags? should we limit the list to a few -- or perhaps simply omit listing editors with ctags support? the list as it is now is a mess. Ehamberg (talk) 12:48, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe the whole list could be replaced with just a link to Comparison of text editors? (Although the table does not clearly show if each editor supports ctags or some other similar database.) --PauliKL (talk) 15:06, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I guess that could work, but as you say: those lists doesn't clearly show if they support ctags or something else. anything is better than status quo, though.... Ehamberg (talk) 16:23, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, that is all fine, but what ARE Ctags?

Explain. Give enough background info to permit one to even imagine what they are and how they might work.

In other words, teach. All I see is experts talking amongst themselves. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.123.55.165 (talk) 21:23, 22 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Deprecated jsctags[edit]

"pcwalton github repository for jsctags" is 404. Could point to https://github.com/ramitos/jsctags — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2804:7F7:A68D:70EF:0:0:0:4 (talk) 02:31, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
