Do NOT post information like that.

This article needs a source for "best selling independent record", since I'm pretty sure that title is held by The Offspring's Smash. Philosopher Torin 07:19, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to have to agree. I can't find any sources claiming that any of Hanson's albums are the best selling independently released album of all time. I found several sources saying Offspring's Smash was though. Closest I found was this PR Newswire article saying that the Penny and Me single was the "#1 independently distributed release in the country". I would have to read that as meaning "at that time" not "of all time". Someone could easily have misinterpreted that though. I'd like to keep this as-is for a few days and see if anyone else chimes in. If not, I'll fix this article and check through the other Hanson related articles for any other references to this. - Albertane 01:47, 6 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't heard any other comments so I've gone ahead and removed the claim of best selling independent record. - Albertane 06:03, 13 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I believe the correct claim is that they had the highest-selling *self-released* album of all time, not the highest-selling independent album. Other independent artists have sold better, but not when releasing the album from a label they own wholly themselves.

Birthplace?[edit]

The article says first that he was born in Jenks, then later that he was born in Tulsa. Which is it?Marzolian (talk) 10:00, 10 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

5 years later nobody knows I was about to ask but saw this here. Mostly likely born in Tulsa but near Jenks. Not sure if he was raised in Jenks or not. Jerry Steinfield (talk) 00:57, 2 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
