Hi there. Thanks for your message...I'm touched that you appreciated my welcoming :D
You'd be surprised by how much 'vandalism' is actually good faith contributions, that a lot of people fail to recognize. In the Good Ol' Days™ of Wikipedia, you could vandalize a page completely 10 times, and still get a friendly message thanking you for testing out Wikipedia. I, for one, thought that this was better, and continue to try and presume good faith on the first message. You might be surprised to know that I've actually unblocked more than I've blocked! (which I just found out myself...)
Don't worry about introducing them to Wikipedia- just try and make sure they don't continue to vandalize pages, because it can really cause problems sometimes. I'll bet a lot of good editors started out by just playing with Wikipedia :)
