Quote O' The Times[edit]

I removed the following:

"The Lambeth Walk" has the distinction of being the only popular song to be the subject of a headline in The Times in October 1938: "While dictators rage and statesmen talk, all Europe dances - to The Lambeth Walk."

I couldn't find this NYT article - I searched for "Lambeth Walk" in the title, as well as "rage and statesmen" and "all Europe dances" in full text. The following eight articles with "Lambeth Walk" in the title do however exist:

Lambeth Walk[edit]

There is actualy a part of Lambeth called "Lambeth Walk" in the north of the London Borough of Lambeth (in or near the effra delta) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Alec - U.K. (talk • contribs) .

I removed the claim of 'unremarkable' for The Walk (as it is known locally). The fact that Lambeth Walk was well-known as an archetypal working class street market meant that the musical's references were not lost on the theatre-going public - even if they hailed from Mayfair. In spite of The Walk having been blighted by several urban renewal projects over the years there are still a small remnant street market and vestiges of its association with the musical (some shabby murals in the market square). Unfortunately, there's not enough of the old Walk to satisfy the occasional lost tourist with the song stuck in his or her head. Fanx 12:22, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unnecessary copyrighted lyrics[edit]

Since Douglas Furber died in 1961 (so, 57 years ago and not 70) the copyright should still be in effect, unless I'm missing something? And as per WP:LYRICS and WP:NOTLYRICS, the lyrics here are not given within an analytic context, or with direct commentary, so it's not fair use. So I think the lyric section should be removed, and potentially reworked into an analytic framework if there are any secondary sources which analyze them. After rechecking the guidelines, I've removed them. Anyone have a reason they should be restored? ElfLady64 (talk) 00:17, 21 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
