If this aspect isn't covered fully at Leech, that where readers will find information. I suggest this be deleted and any material be transferred. Wetman 07:12, 2 Mar 2004 (UTC)

I'd have thought the reverse - if there's information about medicinal leeches at the Leech page which is not in this article it should be transferred here. Can't see why an article on leeches in general should contain much specific information about medicinal leeches other than a link. Trewornan 15:58, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Picture of Leech[edit]

Is the picture of a medicinal leech, or another kind? If it is a medicinal leech then this should be specified, otherwise the picture should be removed. chiefhoser 20:27, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is not the medicinal leech. I would say this is Haemopis sanguisuga, the horse leech.

This would make a nice section to the Leech article. Good too have all our leech material on one page and we could make this a redirect. Cheers, :) Dlohcierekim 01:24, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There are different species of leeches, though, so wouldn't it make more sense for the Leech page to be more generalized with links to other types of leeches? I mean, the other species aren't covered yet, but that doesn't mean they won't be added later--DurinsBane87 02:45, 12 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, this is not the first time a merger had been suggested but it seems totally inappropriate for me. There are roughly 650 species of leech are you going to create a section on each in leech? I feel that the amount of information specific to medicinal leeches in the general leech article is not helpful and should be reduced to just a link.Trewornan (talk) 20:23, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merge?[edit]

There is a question at hirudotherapy's talk page about a possible merger. WhatamIdoing (talk) 00:43, 14 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
