Lizzie Grubman[edit]

Hi. I've reverted your change of "American" to "jewish" in the Lizzie Grubman article. Could you please explain how you think that change improves the article? Thanks, Nandesuka 17:11, 9 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright violations[edit]

Please remove the image of Borat.jpg and the song lyrics from your user page, this is not covered by fair use. I love Borat and "In my country" as much as anyone, but sadly, we're not legally allowed to have these images on our user pages. The song lyrics are also considered a copyright violation, as they are coppied verbatim without any encyclopedic merit. Perhaps if you'd like to link to both the picture and the lyrics, that would be acceptable. Thank you, and happy editing. -[[User:Mysekurity|Mysekurity]] [[additions | e-mail]] 02:59, 7 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I removed them, they did not really serve any purpose anyway. Thanks for the tip. Lapinmies 13:55, 7 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Prussian Blue[edit]

Hi, I see that you deleted my attempt at a compromise paragraph on Prussian Blue/Zyklon B. Could you maybe explain your rationale on the talk page? It's been reverted and re-added and removed, but no one will talk about it. Thanks.

Air crash template box[edit]

Thanks! I looked at the airport info box and modified it, because I thought that having a handy summary of an accident would be, well, handy. I chose blaze-orange for the colour because it's an emergency colour and it evokes the flames that so often accompany air crashes. I'm not sure how to make the image section "full-width"; I learnt a lot about templates while I was testing this, and obviously there's room for improvement! --Jumbo 23:42, 1 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Do not vandalize pages. Thank You. Namely this one Rob Schneider Sumguy333 17:37, 15 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Bah, you just can't handle the truth.

That is not the issue my friend. You vandalzed the page

(another silly warning)

What the hell? Are you saying that I vandalized my own talk page?

no hunny, u fucked up the rob schneider page when u wrote that he wus a terrible actor. i would not suppose something like that from a respected user.

U is kikeah

well that would be a feat wouldnt it?

Yes that would not

I have honestly never found the time to spend on idiots.

Impersonating other users[edit]

Note sure how you found your way over to my talk page, but leaving messages and signing another users name to it is considered incredibly bad form and could get you blocked. NPA[edit]

Leaving personal attacks and offensive edit summaries are grounds for short-term blocks from editing. Your edit on Doc glasgow (talk · contribs)'s talkpage[1] qualifies. Please behave. JFW | T@lk 12:33, 21 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I said "may be engaged in...anti-Semitism"; primarily the Star Wars / "Jew" line and the stuff about Hitler, etc. on the user page (which are often red flags). If I was incorrect, I certainly apologize. KHM03 19:51, 21 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'm equally concerned about User:Lapinmies/List_of_admins_that_have_violated_the_rules. What exactly are you trying to prove here? In my experience, open agitation against "administrators" as a collective has not been very productive. If you have particular concerns about particular admins, there is a remedy. Change "Crash" to "Incident"?[edit]

I've found that you added a "Crash Box" to the Gimli Glider entry and think it's a nice idea (to summerise all air incidents) but the word "Crash" looks a bit drastic to me, especially that in this particular one it turned out to be a pretty normal landing with the aircraft being able to fly on its own a few days later.

How about changing "Crash" to "Incident", as I think it's the normal term in official investigations?

Hey Lapinmies,

I really appreciate you showing how off base that Brenneman guy is. But, can you clarify your last statement on the article's talk page? It looks like you're addressing me, even though I don't support the censored version and was just edit warring with Brenneman over it. If you weren't addressing me, would it be possible to reduce your last post by an indent or two and maybe add a bullet point?

Best wishes,

Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Lance_Mazmanian[edit]

I'd like to ask you to reconsider this case. I believe that it's quite obvious that Doomsguard is a highly biased voter who is close to Mazmanian, as are a number of the others who've voted, and I've brought this and some other matters up recently. Specifically, I'm concerned that there is a group of friends who are not quite notable enough to be on the Wikipedia but are supporting each other's articles in order to give them credibility. I don't think that the subject was notable in 2004 when the article was originally written and I don't believe that he's accomplished much between then and now to change that case. Well, that's my two cents. But I'd like to please ask that you read the page again if possible to see if any of the recent developments have changed your mind. With many thanks, Girolamo Savonarola 08:42, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

BI Article[edit]

I re-added what you deleted. Please see the discussion as to why. Rupture is a local complication and must be included under that topic in what will be the main article. The photos belong there. The "Risks and Complications" section will eventually become a separate article. That is the reason for the photo duplication. The "rupture" section under the local complication is a much shortened brief discussion of what it is, with a link to what will become the new article on Risks and Controversy. I hope this explains the confusion. Thanks!MollyBloom 18:49, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Martin Luther[edit]

I noticed you removed the bit on Martin Luther's entry about his antisemtic writings. While I am a Lutheran, and personally find a lot of value in who Martin Luther was, I still am a champion of truth and of history being given as it was with no omisions. I do not think a total removal was warranted. Perhaps better wording, however I can't see how a total removal could have been justified. Martin Luther early on was under the impression that many Jews would flock to Christianity as he interpreted it, however when he saw they were steadfast in their beliefs, he did turn bitterly antisemetic. And he did use vivid, brutal language. (However please not that Martin Luther was still a man of his time. this is not a justification for his antisemetic turn, just a reason why he appeared so virulent about it.) John 21:50, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't want to hide history, I just think that having a mention about an insignificant detail of his work in the introduction is outrageous. Does not look very neutral. Lapinmies 22:01, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I like the terseness of your new final paragraph to the Martin Luther intro, but I have seen fit to add a word ("considered"). I feel it suspends judgment until the matter may be taken up in the following section below that deals with the issue.--Drboisclair 16:38, 7 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Russophobia picture[edit]

Hi,

When I said English, I actually meant "not Finnish". I have nothing against Finns, but I don't read Finnish, and as such, I cannot check for allegations of staging. Besides, the passage you translated just says that "It must also be remembered that the picture is taken after the war and staged by the Russians." In itself it is not a proof. Either the book contains an extended citation, in which case it is valid, if not, it's just a hypothesis. The Soviet were known to stage some photos, but using children for this is hard. Besides, the Russian website it was taken in Petrozavodsk in 1944 and that it was used at Nurenmberg trials as proof. I find it hard to believe that it is faked... -- Grafikm (AutoGRAF) 15:12, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Johnasson[edit]

To be clear on this one: 1. We have WP:RS that say she is Jewish (many), justifying the category 2. We have no WP:RS that say she is Christian, so that category can not go in until we do 3. Regardless of what you believe, Jewishness is considered ethnic on Wikipedia. Period. That's why we have articles like Jewish ethnic divisions, etc. All articles are written from within that context. Mad Jack 00:07, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I understand. You gave me two links to reliable source, please give one to the policy that says that Jewishness is a part of ethnicity, it would clear this up better.. -Lapinmies 00:24, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What policy? Just about every article on Jewishness on Wikipedia mentions that it is an ethnicity (including the first sentence of Jew). As for Johansson, there are sources that say she is Jewish. On the subject of her background, her article is currently fully sourced. Mad Jack 00:28, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Policies are standards that every user should follow. Apparently there is no policy about who is a jew and who is not and we just have a battle of different POVs. Articles don't make wikipedia policies, this issue must be fixed soon! -Lapinmies 00:33, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Why aren't we talking about whether or not Scarlett is Danish instead? How come, in a million, trillion years, not a single user would remove the Danish Americans category and have a big debate about that one? Anyway, people are Jewish on Wikipedia when WP:RS say that they are, unless WP:RS also exist that say they are not, in which case I guess that becomes a problem. In the case of Johansson, there are only sources that refer to her as Jewish, and no sources that refer to her as not Jewish, so I don't see a problem. Mad Jack 00:35, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Scarlett's father was born in Denmark and had a Danish citizenship, thus he is Danish, not Christian-Danish or Atheist-Danish. Scarlett's mother is an American Atheist. Still in the end Scarlett is somehow Jewish-American. And by the way, do people who convert to judaism get this Jewish ethnicity? This does not make any sense to me. And we have a source saying that she celebrates Christmas and Hanukka, thus she should be Jewish-Christian American. -Lapinmies 00:45, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Right, her father is Danish, and her mother is Jewish, as she confirms here.[2] "And we have a source saying that she celebrates Christmas and Hanukka, thus she should be Jewish-Christian American" is original research. You can't work out any "thus"es on your own. If you had a source that says she is a Christian, she could be listed as that, but you don't. You do have sources that state that she is a Jewish American, however, which is a perfectly rational description for an American of Jewish ancestry (and I have not actually seen any sources that described Scarlett as "Danish American", by the way). Why are you asking me that question about the converts, etc? You know the answer well enough yourself, and you can read up on the subject in articles like, say, Jew, Jewish ethnic divisions, Conversion to Judaism, etc. Mad Jack 01:16, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That article says that her mother is jewish, it does not say that Scarlett is jewish. We have a source saying that her mother is an atheist and that Scarlett celebrates christmas. QED proved my point end of discussion not jewish unless you use an religious POV etc. -Lapinmies 01:27, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Nonsense, plenty of sources that say she is Jewish. Like I said, she was picked as one of the Forward's top 50 Jewish Americans.[3] Mad Jack 01:29, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This again shows a flaw in wikipedia's design that has to be fixed. Just because a magazine that has a religious POV says something we must accept it. My finely crafted claims and logical reasoning is shattered just because I don't own a magazine in which to spew my POV. The cabal won this battle but the war is far from over! -Lapinmies 01:35, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Mad Jack 01:37, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Still, I find it hard to understand how Forward can say anything about her religion when according to the article she wants to keep it secret. -Lapinmies 02:11, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alex Jones Link[edit]

Hey Moron, what gives you the right to delete the Alex Jones link on the Rothschild page? Fancy yourself as an aspring Goebbels, do you? That type of 'vandalism' isn't going to hold mustard. We will fight you every inch of the way!

Very nice. -Lapinmies 19:24, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on , requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Disappearance of Madeleine McCann[edit]

Thank you for your interest in Disappearance of Madeleine McCann. I have reverted your addition of Missing white girl syndrome. This has been discussed on the talk page and the outcome is not to include this link unless it can be backed up by a source since there is implied POV. TerriersFan 16:05, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Lapinmies. You recently reverted my edit of Genevieve Gaunt as a redirect to List of Harry Potter films cast members. I maintain that the redirect is still the option to go. You will notice that I created the article originally as a redirect, only because it was deleted as being a redirect to an old article that was a smaller version of said List. The next edit after I created the article was a user, called User:Genevievegauntfan, funnily enough, who glorified the article to discuss things that could be found on a Genevieve Gaunt fan site or IMDb. These things are trivial and do not meet BLP notability standards. The only thing that is needed to be known about Gaunt is that she played Pansy Parkinson in a bit role in the third Potter film, which can be found at the List above. --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 00:58, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

List of atheists[edit]

Hello Lapinmies. I'm just curious about this edit summary. It seems like a breach of civility to me. I see that you identify yourself as a skeptic, and have an interest in agnosticism, so maybe you were just being ironic. Even so, I don't think such negative edit summaries are a good idea. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Dirtyprettythings.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Dirtyprettythings.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 20:40, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of [edit]

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Hello, Lapinmies. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Terraforming of the Sun, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. TheLongTone (talk) 16:29, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
