The lengthy rant following was replaced:

This does not require that you throw away your beloved Netscape 4.x and sell your soul to the Beast of Redmond. It does not mean you have to buy an expensive new computer just so that it can run Microsoft's latest Internet Explorer and all the associated bloatware that comes with it, and it does not require you to expose yourself to any particular security or privacy risks.

by ", which should be a relatively quick process without causing damages to your computer.".

It may not convey the possible humour the original contributor intended. But it is equally uninformative as the original. :o) --Menchi 11:42 17 Jun 2003 (UTC)

It appears that this page contains other unnecessary lengthy rants, as well:

In particular, note that because Internet Explorer overwrites certain Windows system files, it is usually not possible to reinstall Windows after upgrading Internet Explorer.

(A pretty bold claim, and not really true, if your definition of "reinstall" includes wiping the hard drive, restoring from OEM CDs, etc.)

As it stands, this page looks more like "Why Internet Explorer and Netscape suck." It's supposed to be about page size limits, and what to do about them. I think I will be cutting out some stuff to make it more relevant to that topic... -- Wapcaplet 12:40 17 Jun 2003 (UTC)

if you install win95 then ie4 (never tried it with later ie) then reinstall win95 over the top (not a clean install) then you cannot install IE4 on the system. I found this out the hard way some time ago. Plugwash 00:21, 2 Mar 2005 (UTC)

In the process of building List of ZIP codes in New Mexico I ran up against the limit of Internet Exploder 5.1.7, when the page grew to over 32K and I couldn't paste my copy into the edit box. I was able to do it with good ol' iCab -- it won't do some things but it will do big stuff. So anyway I wonder if I ought to split it into two pages -- one with the numeric listing, and one alphabetical. Any thoughts on that? Maybe more lists should be split. I have opera 7.51 but some times for really long pages it gives me error. Then I have to turn to IE. and edit it without signing in. Please try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Jew/Archive_10.

IE "not reccomended"[edit]

Note: Internet Explorer is not recommended. Please see Browse Happy (http://browsehappy.com/why/) for more information.

The page linked to in this line is uninformative and only contains relevant quotes, not facts. I'm requesting that this be removed, and I believe that users should be free to make their own choices. In a random "testemonial" fashion, I'd like to state that I've been using IE for about seven years now, with nary a problem. CNash 11:14, 12 Jan 2005 (UTC)
