Is it just me or does Vosloo look almost exactly like Billy Zane? When I saw The Mummy for the first time, I thought it was Zane. I think something about how the two actors look similar should be mentioned in the article.--Kross 19:38, May 15, 2005 (UTC)

Misplaced photo

The last photo on the page, with the description "Arnold Vosloo as Tertius Coetzee in Forgiveness", seems to be that of a woman (specifically Ayumi Hamasaki)... Terukiyo 06:41, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

Race?

Possibly Dutch? Between his facial features, real skin tone (which is a lot lighter than when he plays middle-eastern charactersa), and his last name (the first two are just speculation ofcourse, but I'm pretty sure Vosloo is a Dutch name).JanderVK (talk) 08:53, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

Coetzee

I deleted this section. Coetzee is a common name among Afrikaners (see Coetzee) and therefore it is not at all surprising that two South African characters in two separate films would have this name) user: Mikrool 01:05, 21 April 2007 (UTC)~~

Lookalikes

The lookalikes section seemed to be filling up with non-relevant information (Billy Zane, Alex Murphy-Robocop, Paul Roscoe). I'm sure you could have a list of hundreds of names of people who look like Arnold Vosloo if you squint hard enough. But this is Wikipedia, not a MySpace fansite.

Vosloo is quoted as saying he is aware he looks like Billy Zane, so I included that in his personal life, quoting his interview in Charlie Rose. I deleted the Lookalikes section, because Billy Zane is already mentioned and it needn't be turning into a list of randomness.

Removed content

WP:BLP demands that potentially damaging unsourced content be removed on sight. A statement added to the article regarding an apparent medical condition was not sourced and therefore I had to remove it. Boetie?

It says that Arnold gained this name "no doubt from his break through role in South Africa" This is kindof speculation as the nickname Boet (or any variation of the word, which in Afrikaans means "Brother") is given to any South African male (primarily from an Afrikaans background) as a term of endearment. Alberton is defined as a city situated on the southern part of the East Rand of the Gauteng Province in South Africa. Did his father really run a city in SA?

Date of birth

I have removed a date of birth from the infobox and the lead. Each was cited to IMDb, but IMDb is not a reliable source. WP:IMDB We need a valid source for any date of birth added to a biography of a living person. WP:DOB Eddie Blick (talk) 19:02, 4 August 2023 (UTC)

Rotten Tomatoes is also not a reliable source for WP:DOB because it's not a journalism site and it's main business is film criticism. If you check the last discussion as well as the current Rfc, you'll see that many other editors feel it's not suitable for BLP as it gives no information on where they get bio information from and for all we know like many other sites, they could have just web scraped that info from other sites without doing any fact checking.[1][2] Kcj5062 (talk) 06:48, 5 August 2023 (UTC)
