I have made a number of changes to the main text. Most of these are stylistic and grammatical, but I also have corrected two factual errors: (i) 'The Last Messiah' was published not in 1930 but in 1933; (ii) Jesus in the play believes Herodes Antipas not Pilate to be his biological father and thus desires King Herodes' throne.

The section entitled 'Science' seems to me untenable as stands - who has 'tested' Zapffe's theory according to which 'hermeneutic principles'? Is the affirmation of his theory consistent with NPOV? And is it at all appropriate to describe it as 'science', as opposed to, at most, historiography? I leave this for now pending input from others, but in the absence of this I will change the section. It's a section I added a while ago, based on an article setting Zapffe's work in relation to hermeneutical principles. I didn't have the reference then, but I'll find it. I agree with your POV, though. - Sigg3.net 19:20, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Some changes[edit]

Mr.P has made some changes. I have, most importantly, changed the title from 'the lost son' to 'the prodigal son'. In the English speaking world, the bible story that Zapffe is renarrating is almost always called the 'the prodigal son'. Mr.P (the Zapffe enthusiast) 05:19, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
