i think, that it would be great if someone could write about posible roots of that word; it could add something to general understanding of punk music and movement; so maybe leave it, dont delete it, untill someone will do some work at it.

I suspect punk picked it up from reggae, which had a big influence on a lot of punk bands. Concious music by rastafarian artists deals with such themes as the end of the world, Armageddon or 'Armagideon' in Jamaican usage. There's one I remember from Prince Far I called 'Armagideon Time', but there are many others too. Mattley 13:25, 27 Jan 2005 (UTC)
