Yoism[edit]

I have responded to you comments on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Yoism.Geni 18:18, 20 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • Presnell, the vote for undeletion of Yoism is drawing to a close and it looks like it will be decided by a single vote or two. If you are interested in participating, it can be found here. Kriegman 15:01, 20 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Your insightful vote on the Yoism VfD[edit]

In a message dated 10/22/2005 3:05:31 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, wiki@bofh.com writes: I have summarized everything on a page:

To summarize the summary, yes, I discounted all of those votes. I can see how you would disagree with this, so I really do recommend VfU. It could be that the other admins will disagree with my rationale.

Respectfully -

Jot -- Jot Powers <wiki@bofh.com> http://www.bofh.com

This is very sad.

I invested great effort in this to see if the Wikipedia could overcome what others call devastating limitations. Though I do NOT support Larry Sanger's call for deference to "experts," I'm afraid the Wikipedia---in its ostensible call for openness---has created a new elite class of "experts" and is closing the door.

When 6 or 7 hyper-editors averaging way more than 2,000 edits each, none of whom had the chance to have---and none of whom voiced a willingness to wait for---the opportunity to actually experience the phenomenon being judged, ride roughshod over 7 or 8 editor-users (all with a least one prior, unrelated edit, but far less than 2,000) all of whom have carefully reviewed the phenomenon in question, this is quite sad.

We have created a new elite class of experts who have power.

The rest of us can just go home. The experts are in charge.

Image copyright problem with File:North-dallas-forty-poster-1.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:North-dallas-forty-poster-1.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 15:44, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Harlem-nights-poster-1.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Harlem-nights-poster-1.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 18:02, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Martin_Luther_Woodcut_Flip.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Martin_Luther_Woodcut_Flip.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:16, 22 April 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Calliopejen1 (talk) 12:16, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Harlem-nights-poster-1.jpg missing description details[edit]

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as:

is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions, please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Theo's Little Bot (error?) 01:15, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
