Form 1040 should not be a redirection[edit]

User:MSJapan is trying to redirect Form 1040 to IRS tax forms without justification. The topic Form 1040 is notable so the page should not be redirected or deleted, especially without justification or an AfD. Riceissa (talk) 07:33, 14 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Existence is not notability. Second of all, explaining who can use what form is tax advice. Wikipedia is {[WP:NOTHOWTO|not a how-to]]. Third, this article, via its explanations of processes, is effectively giving out tax advice. See Circular_230#Requirements_for_tax_advice. Lastly, you are another one of Vipul's paid editors, and Vipul requested this article and pays on pageviews. Therefore, you have no business coming in here acting like an unrelated party. Advice removed...[edit]

We have "it is important to pay one's taxes by a certain date", "there is only a maximum 25% penalty, so....", "forms can be filed in the following manners for certain income brackets...", "there is a three-year refund time limit" and the like. I have trimmed out absolutely everything that may be construed as pertaining to giving actual guidance on how to fill out the tax form per WP:NOTHOWTO. Much of the information is simplistic nonsense - the refund time limit has exceptions. Stating anything to the effect of "one should do" is not appropriate. Tax advice should be given by professionals, not here. MSJapan (talk) 16:39, 2 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Outdated[edit]

This article needs to be updated as the 1040A and 1040EZ forms no longer exist, and the schedules are generally numbered now. 66.42.154.104 (talk) 23:15, 2 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
