Dirk Nowitzki[edit]

Thanks for reverting it and removing that unneccessary Punk'd paragraph. I removed that same paragraph in the past, but people keep putting it back, so I just resigned myself to it and tried to find an appropriate title for its section. I hope this doesn't spark an edit war, but I agree that it really has no place on Nowitzki's bio. - Davis21Wylie 10:54, 13 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I think I was the first one to get rid of it originally, but it's gone back and forth ever since. But the thing is, it appears to be one person who continually is reinserting it and it's always from an anonymous IP; and quite clearly, they have been a bit dishonest about it, trying to slip it in without people noticing it. It's not like there are just a bunch of people trying to preserve it. It's just one troll, but one really really annoying troll.

NPOVenforcer's user page[edit]

You should be aware that you, along with myself, are being singled out for a number of accusations on User:NPOVenforcer. He has apparently decided to keep a hitlist of those who have crossed him on the 'pedia, and you and I are first on the list. I expect this will go to an RfC but I have tried to reason with him on his user page. Kit 07:19, 3 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know. I'm not too terribly worried about it, though. That guy is crazy. A lot of his edits consist entirely of original research and this isn't the first argument he's gotten into over it (well, assuming he is the anonymous user in question). I started reading through the edits of the anonymous user and he has a consistent pattern of inserting original research into articles and then getting into arguments over it and accusing everyone of 'libeling' him or enforcing their POV, when in fact, he's the one trying to enforce his POV.

An RfC has been formed on this topic: Wikipedia:Requests for comment/NPOVenforcer. I have not signed off on it yet, but plan to contribute later. Kit 14:48, 8 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

As of this time, User:NPOVenforcer has been indefinitely blocked by User:Ral315 as per the reasons stated on the RfC above. The hitlist has also been removed. Kit 06:48, 9 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Comment about comment[edit]

I ventured an opinion on the Iranian President, which is not out of place (read articles on Cyprus for example). After all, the discusion page is about what the article is about, and that man is a menace and a threat to World Peace. I suppose you think he's the best thing since sliced bread, and if that is so, you're entitled to your opinion and to write it on the discussion page. Expatkiwi

I can't stand him personally, but the comment is out of place. The discussion pages are for talk concerning the article, its content, and changes or potential changes that need to be made. It is not a forum to give speeches about your political views on a subject. If you want to discuss your political views with others, there are several more appropriate communities to do so on the web.

You make it sound like I'm the only person on WIKIPEDIA who ventures such opinions. I've contributed my share of WIKIPEDIA pages and several have been attacked with political comments. Guess its okay for them to do so but not okay for me, eh? Expatkiwi

Why would I think it was Ok for them to do it but not you? Or are you just one of those people that thinks everyone is out to get you?

I have been subjected to a sizeable number of personal attacks over my postings, and it was not unreasonable to assume that you were doing likewise. Expatkiwi

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
