Mistaken names?[edit]

..are the allegations true that some names are mistakenly on the wall?

Yes, when the Wall was built in 1982 there were medical records that showed a number of men had been seriously injured but whether they lived or died was not recorded. Their exact state could not be verified in time, so the decision was made to err on the side of adding their names. The names of those who were still alive were then removed from the database used to make the directories, so their names are on the Wall but can not be found by looking them up in the printed directories.

Family guy episode[edit]

Is the small section on the Family Guy episode referencing the memorial necessary to be included in this article? I think it suffices to mention the Family Guy episode in in a sentence under Cultural Representations. It doesn't seem like the episode is significant enough to warrant its own subsection, and in my opinion the amount of detail given to the episode here seems unencyclopedic. 138.88.218.178 (talk) 15:24, 24 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Viet Nam "War"[edit]

To Whom It May Concern: I am a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, having served in the Air Force from 1970 - 1974. Please be advised that this was never a declared war, but is categorized as a "conflict". Please correct your pages on the Vietnam Conflict, for the peace of mind of all who served during this troubling times. It will be much appreciated.

Added link to this discussion @ Talk:Vietnam War as it may affect that article also. - FlightTime (open channel) 21:23, 29 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The common historical shorthand name for the conflict is Vietnam War (regardless of its status as a declared war). I don't see that changing any time soon. Intothatdarkness 01:26, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
