List of -uck words[edit]

Oh, come on. Luigi30 23:44, 9 Dec 2004 (UTC)

• I couldn't find "come on" in the deletion policy. Doesn't seem to be a reason. Since a list of three-letter words passed recently, I think the same arguments will apply to that. There's clearly a consensus for this stuff, whatever I personally think. No vote though. Dr Zen 00:58, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)
• It's a perfectly valid page for a rhyming dictionary, but not for an encyclpedia. Along with List of -ack words, List of -ell words and List of -ight words, transwiki to Wiktionary, (as well as possibly BJAODN), and then delete. Remember, Wikipedia is not a dictionary, and a rhyming dictionary is a specialized kind of dictionary. -- Karada 01:06, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)
• Delete. Agree with Karada. I was just going to say Wikipedia is not a (rhyming) dictionary, when this got pre-empted by an edit conflict. --MarkSweep 01:08, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)
• Yuck Also agree with Karada Kappa 01:11, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)
• Move to a wiki that rhymes with "dictionary." Aerion 01:13, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)
• listcruft? Delete, not encyclopedic. hfool 01:32, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)
• Why hello. lists. Can all of these be considered in the same VfD? hfool 01:34, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)
• Transwicki. Some poor shmuck tried to run amuck creating entries that suck, but now he's out of luck... P Ingerson 01:43, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)
• Delete: Subject = words | Wiktionary. (Puckish buck, plucking his duck, shucked off an article with which I'll have no truck.) Geogre 01:48, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)
• Fuck this (someone had to say it; might as well be me, it's precedented). -R. fiend 03:58, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)
• Delete. Not at all encyclopedic. Another bad list. --Improv 06:34, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)
• Transwiki Don't delete. Just transwiki it. Squash (Talk) 06:38, Dec 10, 2004 (UTC)
• Transwucki. -- Jmabel | Talk 08:09, Dec 10, 2004 (UTC)
• Keep. What these word lists have to do with a dictionary? Dictionaries only describe words one-by-one, never by lists. — Monedula 08:21, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)
• Comment: Some types of dictionaries, like a rhyming dictionary or a thesaurus, do in fact describe sets of words. --MarkSweep 08:38, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)
• Transwiki to wiktionary. The best place for it. Mgm|(talk) 12:12, Dec 10, 2004 (UTC)
• Delete. I don't know if this is suitable for Wiktionary, but it certainly isn't suitable for Wikipedia. I wish someone would set up a Wiki for lists and trivia, it would solve so many problems with Wikipedia being filled with bloat (and hence eventually producing exactly the same problem as the internet has in general - how do you find the info?)Average Earthman 12:26, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)
• Finding things shouldn't be a problem if they are organized and named properly... how would someone accidentally come across that list, except by using 'random page'? Kappa 19:32, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)
• Delete. Not encyclopedic (and doesn't really belong in a dictionary, either). Katefan0 19:48, Dec 10, 2004 (UTC)
• I suppose a transwiki to Wiktionary is in order. GRider\talk 21:24, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)
• Deluck, because to allow this will set an insane precedent opening the way for a limitless set of rhyming word lists. Maybe someday, transwiki to LimerWiki. But not anytime soon. - [[User:KeithTyler|Keith D. Tyler [flame]]] 01:07, Dec 11, 2004 (UTC)

• Delete: Pointless... Coolgamer 01:14, 11 Dec 2004 (UTC)
• Not quite pointless — may help people to find something. — Monedula 10:27, 14 Dec 2004 (UTC)
• Delete. Non-encyclopedic. And the other pages at Category:Rhyme lists as well. The only pages of this kind that could be encyclopedic would be List of -gry words and List of words that rhyme with orange. Eugene van der Pijll 01:32, 11 Dec 2004 (UTC)
• Delete. No need to transwiki; Wiktionary already has a list that is essentially the same: [1]. Ливай | 07:09, 12 Dec 2004 (UTC)
