Are you following me around? First you side against me on Wikipedia:Votes for deletion, now I get a suspicious edit conflict. Am I on probation? ;) -- Tim Starling 09:57 Mar 13, 2003 (UTC)

Not with any intent, to be certain. I did follow your first polarization edit just from curiosity, then took a link to another polarization article and spotted an edit opening there. If anything we followed each other :) Salsa Shark 10:01 Mar 13, 2003 (UTC)

I must be stupid or something, but I can't figure out the reverting. I tried it on my own page...

 1. select Older Versions
 2. click on one I'd like to try
 3. uhhhh, what edit button?

Ok now that's weird, NOW there's an edit button. I'll have to figure this out.

Thanks for fixing rocks. I messed up the redirect, then confused myself because "What Links Here" was listing the same page as a triple redirect to itself. Maybe it's the drugs... Tuf-Kat

Thanks for your help with following Michael around and cleaning up after him. -- Zoe

Heh, no problem. You seem to be faster than I am.  :) - Hephaestos

Hi, I don't know if you are on the mailing lists, but thought you might be interested to see that 12.246.100.201 was a bot used by mistake by one of the developers (see http://www.wikipedia.org/pipermail/wikipedia-l/2003-March/009724.html). Sounds like you did good work in tidying up :) -- sannse 07:03 Mar 19, 2003 (UTC)

You reverted my additions to "Portable Document Format" for advocacy. I do not advocate. I merely point out that the love of Adobe for its printerlanguage, Post Script (Post Script truly is an amazing language for device independent printing), blinded it to other better altenatives when it developed PDF. I then gave an example of an hypothetical (¿How can I advocate something which is not real?) better altenative which is smaller, editable, and luckily for the blind, text-to-speech-able. I merely tried to give a more complete critique.

?alabio 07:12 Mar 19, 2003 (UTC)

It would have been fine to point out shortcomings of PDF, but "only good for printing - nothing else" crosses the line into POV (I can read PDFs on-screen with little difficulty). And the alternative scheme, not being about the Portable Document Format, simply does not belong in the PDF entry. Salsa Shark 07:17 Mar 19, 2003 (UTC)

Mucho gracias for your work on Michael's "contributions" to the Wikipedia. Tuf-Kat

Hi Salsa Shark, Just a quick request – when you add pages to Articles for deletion would you put your addition on a new line and add your user name? I see why you would just add it to a related group, but that makes it look as though the original author listed it – and they might not agree it needs deletion. (In the case of Little Runaway I agree with you anyway :) Many thanks -- sannse 16:11 Mar 21, 2003 (UTC)

Hey, Salsa -- I think there's an agreement that xxxx in music] stand out instead of being hidden in a year link. Otherwise, thanks for your work, you've done a great job. -- Zoe

Nice work on weeding our little garden here. May I suggest you become an Admin? All you have to do is post a comment indicating interest on WikiEN-L. Cheers! --mav

I protected the Earl Doherty page, after you alerted me to the pointless edit war there. Please take the lead in moderating the discussion at talk:Earl Doherty. --Uncle Ed

Long time no see. Good to see you back. - Hephaestos 07:16, 6 Dec 2003 (UTC)

Thank you for blanking vandalisms, but please also list the page in WP:CU, mark it in bold if it needs to be deleted, so that a sysop may delete it. Otherwise the page may go unnoticed. Dori | Talk 02:27, Dec 10, 2003 (UTC)

Hi Salsa Shark :) It actually is ==External links, even if there is just one: see the Wikipedia:Manual of Style. It's really annoying having the singular, since people don't bother to modify the header when they add a link, so you have a header of External link with more than one site hanging down from it! IT's better to put the plural in all the time - it's not such a grammatical "badness" since the header signifies the place for external links to be. Anyway, </rant>, and keep up the good work :) Dysprosia 21:06, 10 Dec 2003 (UTC)

Hi Salsa Shark, shall we agree which one of us does the updating? I keep getting patches rejected as I'm fixing the data in John Holter. Webhat 06:08, Dec 13, 2003 (UTC)

Thanks, I've merged all the changes that you and I made. Now I'm going to bed. Have fun!!! Webhat 06:19, Dec 13, 2003 (UTC)
Nobody stepped on anybodies toes. We both wanted it to be right, and that just caused us both problems. As soon as you'd changed something, I changed it back, and visa versa. I've had this at work with the CVS many times, somebody just has to explain that there is a problem updating, otherwise it just gets worse. See you in the wiki! - Webhat 06:37, Dec 13, 2003 (UTC)

Salsa Shark 4 admin! I've nominated you over at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship :) If you want to accept, you can go over and accept after some people have commented (but you don't have to accept if you don't want to)... Good work :) Dysprosia 06:42, 16 Dec 2003 (UTC)

I do not appreciate people calling my work COV, when it is clearly not. The text come from PUBLIC DOMAINS. When I say it does, that is what I mean. There is no conversation to it. Just look for yourself, it has the link!-- ChrisDJackson

What you 'appreciate' is completely irrelevant: Wikipedia has procedures, and you will follow them or you will not edit here. As stated in the copyvio boilerplate, make your edits on the listed temp page or not at all. Salsa Shark 05:32, 2 Jan 2004 (UTC)

(Re: People from Missouri) re: Least Heat Moon -- great inclusion :) Kyk 05:35, 3 Jan 2004 (UTC)

PS: It may not be as high-falutin' eddicated as reading historical articles, but sure it is fun to look at lists of people born in places, so that is why I was adding some :) Kyk 06:04, 3 Jan 2004 (UTC)

You have to realize that part of the point of this open source collaboration is that the learning curve for new users is part of the process. Discouraging them only hurts the project. Your attitude makes me want to never return, actually. Say the word and I'm gone forever. I'm wondering why I've sunk so much time into this already. Triptych 12:24, 5 Jan 2004 (UTC)

If your skin is this thin, you're bound to have problems here and everywhere else. I really don't care if you stay or leave. Salsa Shark 12:28, 5 Jan 2004 (UTC)

Not that I have any real problem with your recent delete of September 11th truth movement - I'm the one who flagged it as POV - but I'm just wondering what the basis is to kill without process an article that's not blatant nonsense, and actually contains one potentially interesting (if unattributed) quote. I've been working on Wikipedia about 10 weeks, and I've seen some other similar articles: one possible nugget amid the dross. I always flag them, figuring that's the Right Thing To Do. Should I be deleting them, or what? -- Jmabel 09:32, 8 Jan 2004 (UTC) Thanks for the answer (on my talk page, if anybody's looking for it) -- Jmabel 09:52, 8 Jan 2004 (UTC)

Thank you for respectfully editing, rather than continuing to revert. While your opinion about lower vrs. upper case "G" may indeed be correct (obviously I am less convinced) I was not about to allow the 10 minutes or so of work I put in with the varius other edits I made go to waste. Again, thank you for your reasonable response, ending the ugly cycle of reverts. If you would like to discuss the particulars of the "G" or anything else, I would welcome your contributions at Talk:Atheism. Jack 02:56, 13 Jan 2004 (UTC)

Your point is well taken. It seems Mrdice has already spoken more or less my thoughts on Talk:Atheism... Salsa Shark 03:01, 13 Jan 2004 (UTC)
JackLynch is obviously a troll. Had he cared about "hard work", he would have re-fixed the "grammatical errors" without changing the "god" to "God". Anyway, someone who doesn't know that something as simple as "god" is uncapitalized might not be the best person to fix grammatical errors. - Lord Kenneth 01:59, Jan 15, 2004 (UTC)

Deletion request[edit]

Could you please delete Rainbowkiss: it's been fast-deleted on Jan 15 by User:Angela, but the author (User:Psiom) has re-created it. Or should this go to VfD? (Like Seagulling and Necropedophilia, created by the same user?) Lupo 12:22, 16 Jan 2004 (UTC)

Need a re-fast delete on Konrad I Mazowiecki - you deleted it just before I put the 'msg:Dtest' on it. - UtherSRG 06:04, 17 Jan 2004 (UTC)

Brianism[edit]

I do not know if you are watching Brianism Talk, but it is fair that you should see this: An Open Letter from Rex Mundi, co-founder of Brianism. In view of this, I have changed my vote to Delete. Link has apparently been "e-mailed to participants in the discussion", but not posted on WP by the writer - which is why I am doing it. I also do not see how the writer would have all the e-mail addresses involved. Kind regards, Anjouli 13:56, 16 Jan 2004 (UTC)

I strongly disagree with your recent revert here. Please consult any reference source (I supplied several on talk:atheism, but you can find your own) and see that what you reverted was not POV, but what you reverted to was. The G is always capitalized. Review some dictionaries or encyclopedias from unbiased sources. Thank you for your kind attention. Regards, Jack 06:09, 25 Jan 2004 (UTC)

Keep fighting the good fight. Upon your shoulders rests all Truth in the Western tradition. Decumanus 09:49, 25 Jan 2004 (UTC)

Arguments please, not only statements before erverting! Read: http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/Language! If these terms are used in an english language encyclopedia about language, how can you deny that these term are used by linguists?

Using Nationmaster as a source isn't a good choice, as they copy Wikipedia contents. So you will find exactly the same contents in the history of Language. andy 11:22, 28 Jan 2004 (UTC)
Read also the other links. I could add many more! And doing some Google research isn't too much work before reverting and blocking.
http://www.uni-trier.de/uni/fb2/anglistik/Projekte/stubbs/german.htm This link should convince you!

don't revert[edit]

add to content, discuss, cite sources. Do not revert. Reversion adds nothing to the quality opf content, nor to the atmosphere here. I welcome your comments and edits, but don't revert. Jack 05:19, 29 Jan 2004 (UTC)

I'm sorry if I came on a bit strong above, and I would like to reiterate my interest in your POV on this. If you dislike discussing it in talk:atheism, you are welcome on my talk page, or anywhere else for that matter. Cheers, Jack 05:34, 29 Jan 2004 (UTC)

Request for hard ban on Theresa Knott and DavidWBrooks[edit]

User:Theresa_knott vandalized the iridology:talk page repeatedly. Her spelling is always biased towards insulting POVs. User:DavidWBrooks questioned this editor's sanity (see below). It was this questioning that I reported six days ago. Apparently my report was misunderstood. I was banned as a consequence. Enclosed are the relevant passages. Both User:Theresa_knott and User:DavidWBrooks said this:

Poll notification[edit]

Jack (now known as Sam Spade) created a poll at Talk:Atheism/Godvrs.god poll on the capital G issue in atheism, so I figured I should drop a note about it to all the major participants in the editing on that article since Jan 11. I just went through the edit history clicking names that looked prominent, so if you aren't interested in the issue feel free to ignore it. Bryan 05:21, 12 Feb 2004 (UTC)

Wasting My Time[edit]

Hi Salsa Shark. I know you haven't been on for a while, but if you come back, here's something I have to say:

I deleted Pluto off the list of planets because it isn't one. I have proof it isn't. I should've acknowledged my apology, but I didn't, and you followed me around and edited my well-done Richie Sexson page. Just like you said when I edited the Pluto page, here's something I have to say:

You may consider your edits concerning Richie Sexson to be funny, but you only waste the time of the creator of the page (me).

So, anyway, I'm sorry for editing the Pluto page. Are you sorry for editing the Richie Sexson page for no reason?

Article Licensing[edit]

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

Suspension of admin privileges due to inactivity[edit]

Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative privileges of users who have been inactive for one year, meaning administrators who have made neither any edits nor any logged actions in over one year. As a result of this discussion, your administrative privileges have been removed pending your return. If you wish to have these privileges reinstated, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. RL0919 (talk) 22:18, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of change[edit]

Hello. You are receiving this message because of a recent change to the administrator policy that alters what you were told at the time of your desysopping. The effect of the change is that you will not longer be able to request restoration of the tools because of your prior inactivity. You have until December 30, 2012 to request restoration or else the policy will prevent you from doing so in the future; you would need to seek a new WP:RFA. Until December 30, you can file a request at WP:BN for review by the crats. Thank you. MBisanz talk 04:22, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
