About Class 1 Lasers[edit]

"N.B., take care to use a low-powered laser (class 1 only) "

Where am I to find one of these class 1 lasers? I don't think I've ever seen a class 1 laser. Laser pointers are usually class 2 or 3B. Now I'm all for safety, but isn't this a bit excessive? -- Tim Starling 13:24, Dec 23, 2003 (UTC)

"Examples of such products (containing class 1 lasers) include laser printers and compact disc players" (reference: http://www.hpa.org.uk/radiation/faq/laser/laser9.htm)... other classes of lasers may be used, but safety precautions must be taken. I think the author meant "In places where the undisturbed beam would have reached, .... " Rdankwort (talk) 01:02, 14 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
