United States Secretary of State[edit]

Semi-protection: Until Pompeo is confirmed, page keeps being changed, Tillerson is still SOS. 2001:630:12:1090:7199:87B2:471E:6F5E (talk) 14:13, 13 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I turned the Duties and Responsibilities list into Prose[edit]

I changed the duties and responsibilities to read better. I added a little more information with each responsibility as well. Capital Letters[edit]

United States Secretary of State should be capitalized as a title. United States Secretary of State not United States secretary of state ScalarWaveOptics (talk) 23:36, 24 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@ScalarWaveOptics: Wikipedia’s manual of style lowercases titles like SoS, as do most other publications. See MOS:JOBTITLES; see also the NYT, the WSJ, encyclopedia britannica. Wallnot (talk) 00:09, 25 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Out of curiosity, why is the article title capitalised but lowercase in the first sentence? 93 (talk) 21:31, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Because the title in the first sentence is preceded by the modifier "the" while the title in the article title is not. Again, see MOS:JOBTITLES. Hope that helps. Wallnot (talk) 21:53, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
