Sister Cities?[edit]

Queen Susan Emanuel?[edit]

This is apparently spurious. What is the history of the palace's transformation into a national museum? Did Marie Amélie, Queen of the French (1830-48) indeed have a hand in preserving Versailles? sister city with Canberra?[edit]

Both Canberra and Versailles list Nara as a sister city, however Canberra does not list Versailles as a sister, but the current edit shows Versailles listing Canberra as a sister. I'm from Canberra and am unaware of this sister city link. Anyone heard of this link from the Versailles side? --.../Nemo (talk • Contributions) 03:49, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Canberra was a sister city with Nara but in 1996 or so, as part of the uproar over French nuclear testing in the Pacific, Canberra ended the relationship as a protest. Such protests may have contributed to France's decision to end testing soon after.
