"Lord, I Got Victory"[edit]

theres another song on this album called "Lord I Got Victory" - a google search for "DC Talk" and "Gospel Clip" will give you the lyrics

Where did this song come from? I can't find any mentions of it other than in connection with the Jesus Freak album. Is it actually an old Negro spiritual or is it just something that DC Talk made up? Professional Reviews[edit]

The fact that of the three professional reviews that are included, one is from a fansite of the band in question and another is from a website whose creation is described as "influenced by" this album strikes me as odd. Notoriety[edit]

Every time I read this article I want to add a section on "Notoriety" and try to encapsulate, some of the less tangible impacts this album had on the fans, the industry and the doors it opened musically to future bands and artists. Proving it is a challenge, though I know it to be so, and being new to the 'pedia somewhat unsure of what allowance for such forms of commentary are acceptable. I can find all sorts of quotes regarding the impact it had as a milestone within the genre, many from album reviews or top-10-something-lists of all time. Ultimately however when I start, all I really have is an opinionated statement supported by more opinionated statements. But if somebody can come up with a substantiated way to say what I'm thinking, I'd love it. BazookajoeReno (talk) 17:43, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your interest in improving this article. Opinionated statements are often acceptable in Wikipedia if they are (1) attributed and (2) referenced to reliable sources. "Attributed" means that the sentence names the person with that opinion. Here's a made-up example: Johny Q. Jones, music critic for the San Diego Something, wrote that the success of Jesus Freak helped open doors for other Christian bands to be heard on secular radio stations. Reliable sources here include CCMMagazine.com, Biilboard, Entertainment Weekly and major newspapers. Fan sites are not reliable sources. Proposed merge with Jesus Freak: 10th Anniversary Special Edition[edit]
