I unsmalled the word "the Lord" because it did not seem standard. Tritium6 21:07, 29 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Blockquotes[edit]

I propose the block quotations are removed - a link / reference is sufficient illustration - Tiswas(t) 11:15, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jeremiah[edit]

Calling the Book of Jeremiah and the Book of Lamentations "[Jeremiah's] surviving literary works" is wrong. Lamentations is not thought to have been written by Jeremiah, but rather attributed to him: see Pseudepigrapha. Even saying the same about the Book of Jeremiah represents a particular point of view. I'm changing the article to reflect this. Psychlohexane (talk) 22:19, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jeremiad competition[edit]

The most recent edit adds a paragraph describing a supposed lamentations competition. No supporting information is given and I have been unable to find any through Google. I suspect it is a joke and should be deleted. For the moment I have tagged it as Citation needed. RichardKennaway (talk) 16:52, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Religious Text Primary tag[edit]

I removed the "religious text primary source" tag, which wasn't appropriate for this article. The text was not being presented as if its contents were to be considered verified fact, but as a widely known textual example of a jeremiad. Frizzmaz (talk) 13:26, 25 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
