Photograph

Should the description of the photograph be moved to the photograph's page, since the details don't add anything to the understanding of the stove beyond what's already displayed in the caption? -- Avocado 23:52, Apr 21, 2005 (UTC)

I gave the details about the room, the window, the unexpected European, etc., because otherwise (unless you already have a fairly good idea of what to expect to see) I think it would be hard to tell what the kang is. For one thing, I really didn't expect a kang to be so large and well finished. P0M 01:40, 22 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Ah. I kind of thought the caption to the image itself made it sufficiently clear. Maybe the stuff about the window and about the book the image is from could be moved either to the image page or to a reference list at the bottom of the article? Hypocaust

The article mentions masonry stoves and ceramic stoves but the word hypocaust only occurs as a bibliographic entry. Surely the hypocaust is a much closer equivalent to the kang and should be discussed in the article? 131.111.85.79 (talk) 11:37, 30 November 2012 (UTC)

24.50.151.151 (talk) 19:25, 25 December 2014 (UTC) As the world decries costs of house heating, hydronic heating is underused. The explanation being no w/w carpeting as blunts heat and the supposed convenience of having the metal (heat loss!) ductwork in place to do double duty for a/c. Instead of carbon credits we should be pursuing floor heating thru hydronic heat tubing.
