Move to Blaník[edit]

Let's move this page to Blaník: the ISO-8859-1 character set, which is the limiting factor of article titles, does contain the "í" character. -- Sandius 17:45, 11 Apr 2005 (UTC)

I'm a witness to the fact that there indeed is a (very small) army, including St. Wenceslas, in a cave inside Mt. Blanik. Unfortunately both the leader and his soldiers are carved out of sandstone and unlikely to ride to his country's rescue. Particularly in view of the fact that St. Vaclav/Wenceslas is better known for his decency and his peaceful reign than for his valor. One of these days when I have more time I'll try to find some literature to back me up. Fairlind (talk) 02:58, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Stone from Blaník included in newly built theatre..?[edit]

All original foundation stones can still be seen in the exhibition in the basement of the National Theatre. Yes, it burned down once on 12 August 1881 and fire destroyed copper dome, auditorium and stage of the theatre, but was rebuilt again. In the exhibition is also a white marble plaque by Czech expatriates from Chicago with the inscription "What blood binds, the sea does not divide", which however did not arrive until 1871.1 Jirka.h23 (talk) 12:08, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
