According to the documentation of File:Fire the Lazer.svg, It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of such symbols [...] on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation, qualifies as non-free use under the Copyright law of the United States. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Non-free content.

- @Thinker78: When it comes to questionable copyrighted material, I err on the side of caution, as copyrights involve complicated and contentious legal issues. In this case, it did not and currently does not have a Non-free use rationale for the New Zealand flag debate article, and so it was rightly removed. Then and now, the flag file only has a Non-free use rationale for the Laser Kiwi flag article. That is the only article it can be used on without a specific Non-free use rationale for another specific article, per WP:NFC#Implementation. Hope that helps. Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay[edit]
