Flag[edit]

Could someone add Needham's flag to the article?

Ranking the Wellesley/Needham football rivalry[edit]

There is apparent controversy over the status of Needham High's football rivalry with Wellesley High. Many Needhamites (myself included) grew up being told it was the oldest in the nation. The article at http://www.wellesleyhsoc.com/playball6.htm subscribes to this view, and it can be found elsewhere in print. However, according to the NFL (http://www.nflhs.com/news/records/11man_team_misc.asp), the Connecticut rivalry between New London and Norwich Free Academy is actually 7 years older.

Oldest Current Rivalries
1875 New London, CT vs.
Norwich Free Academy, CT (143 games)
1882 Wellesley, MA vs.
Needham Heights Needham, MA (117 games)
1887 Boston Latin, MA vs.
	 Boston English, MA (118 games)
1887 Philadelphia William Penn Charter, PA vs.
Fort Washington Germantown Academy, PA (118 games)
1887 Pottstown The Hill School, PA vs.
	 Lawrenceville, NJ (101 games)

Is this the definitive answer (ignoring the spurious "Needham Heights" in their table)?

Needham Heights[edit]

What does "Needham Heights" refer to? Is it a subset of the town? -- Beland 16:16, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

To my knowledge, it's a quasi-official designation for an area of downtown Needham (around the Needham Heights RR station). It was once probably used in some official capacity, but not really anymore. It's not nearly as official a designation as, say, the villages of Newton. --Elcocinero 22:35, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Needham Heights is a small area of Needham. It is basically a few stores, a nursing home, and a train station. The smaller of two Needham post offices is located in Needham Heights. The area that is served by this post office (02494) is considered Needham Heights. (DBOblivion 15:58, 29 September 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Specifically, it's the area around the intersection of West Street and Highland Avenue in Needham. At least that's where it was when I lived there many years ago. (Publius52 05:23, 25 February 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Needham Field of Dreams[edit]

This is where the dreams of Needham are made. I love the fields of dreams because I feel like I'm dreaming when I go on the Fields of Dreams. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.60.239.161 (talk) 23:19, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Randy Moss[edit]

The current page says Randy Moss is from Needham, but I don't think that's true? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.105.239.35 (talk) 06:32, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
