Canberra Times[edit]

Newscorp doesn't own the CT, Fairfax does, see http://adcentre.com.au/our-brands/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Canberra_Times http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairfax_Media SobriquetQue 10:41, Dec 4, 2013

From lfd:

  • List of assets owned by News Corporation useless list. -- JeLuF 12:43, 24 Nov 2003 (UTC)
    • Considering how concentrated ownership of the media is I think these are useful. Secretlondon 12:46, Nov 24, 2003 (UTC)
    • I misread News Corporation as News Corporations and missed the point. Nevertheless I'm for deletion, this information belongs into the News Corporation article. -- JeLuF 12:56, 24 Nov 2003 (UTC)
    • Can't this be merged and redirected with the existing article, rather than deleted? Martin
    • Keep. We have similar pages for many large companies ex: General Electric. Davodd 13:45, Dec 7, 2003 (UTC)
    • Keep all three of these. See List of who owns what. This appears to be part of an effort to help people find related companies when the relationships aren't well known. There's merit in the argument that they belong in the companies, and they do, but I'm happy to have different lists with the same content, if the list is addressing different topics. Might be worth combining into List of who owns what for a while, though, until that gets too large. If someone wants to do that, redirecting these there makes sense. Jamesday 17:25, 12 Dec 2003 (UTC)
    • Keep (this, and other asset lists.) This information is important but is not something most people will know offhand. Now, to make them really useful, someone should create an index page for Lists of corporate assets. Isomorphic 08:46, 15 Dec 2003 (UTC)
      • In other news, I am apparently unable to read, and didn't notice the mention of list of who owns what. Reiterating, though: with that page as an index, lists of corporate assets are very useful. Isomorphic 08:54, 15 Dec 2003 (UTC)

i'm against merging them. for example, the sydney news limited list really helped me understand something i was researching about the company. also, this deletion conversation is 5 years old. i propose we close it, with a consensus on keeping the distinct asset lists Aroundthewayboy (talk) 20:22, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • However, they aren't distinct asset lists; they are just two lists of the same thing – assets owned by News Corporation. As is, it's redundant, and requires multiple edits for one update. I think I'll check to make sure that nothing is missing from this article and report the merge as complete. Player 03 (talk) 20:23, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sunday Mail (Adelaide) - Added Internal Link[edit]

I have added an Internal Link to - Sunday Mail (Adelaide) Kathleen.wright5 01:30, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The entire purpose of people visiting that page is to get an idea of ALL the channels connected with "Rupert Murdoch" and, as in my case, avoid them like the plague. So I would definitely vote to combine the 2. For example, the Speed TV channel. How would someone know! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 149.65.132.17 (talk) 13:05, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

contradiction[edit]

This page lists the new zealand newspaper as an asset of news corporation. However, the page on the sunday star times lists its owner as Faifax Media. I dont think Fairfax Media is owned by Nes Corporation (yet). Can someone shed some light on this please? thankyou —Preceding unsigned comment added by Warrick1974 (talkcontribs) 02:17, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Untitled[edit]

Dow Jones is a News Corporation company; this should be merged into NewsCorp. -Branddobbe (talk) 07:31, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • It has. The question is, should this article be replaced with a redirect? Player 03 (talk) 20:08, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • May I suggest a redirect to here? The holdings section on the News Corp. page is a little bit of a mess and I may do a huge cleanup/edit of it at some point. This article is very basic compared to the list of DJ assets on the News Corp. assets list. Perry mason (talk) 04:34, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Drownedinsound.com[edit]

I removed Drownedinsound.com as there is no longer any relationship with News Corp.[1] --TMH (talk) 00:10, 30 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Notes[edit]

Beliefnet[edit]

In wikipedia's article about Beliefnet, it is reported that "On June 25, 2010, Beliefnet was acquired by BN Media". I have thus deleted Beliefnet from the list of subsidiaries. --95.112.170.228 (talk) 10:54, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hulu (Ownership percent)[edit]

Fox Interactive is technically the secondary owner of Hulu with 31% Ownership. The primary owner is techincally NBC/Universal (with 32% ownership). This is a minor detail as they are still have substantial vested interest and control in the company, even if they don't have full controlling share. I updated the article to note the percent, but didn't list that NBC owns more, as I didn't know how to condense it enough. --Robert Wm "Ruedii" (talk) 02:45, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Press Association[edit]

News Corp also owns a slice of Press Association a news agency in the UK. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tadaa12 (talkcontribs) 16:26, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
