Untitled[edit]

This timeline is inaccurate: Peter the Great became tsar not in 1682. Also, if the history is presented on such a rough scale, pogroms should not occupy any mention in it at all. Sincerely, C.K.

Old style or new style dates?[edit]

I noticed that the date for the assassination of Alexander II is old style. Are all dates before 1917 old style? Might need clarification to avoid confusion. InvalidArgument 21:14, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Peter the Great did indeed become Tsar of Russia on April 27th, 1682. Also Why is The Chernobyl disaster not included in this time line? It was a nuclear accident that occurred on 26 April 1986, at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine (then in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, part of the Soviet Union). Incorect information on South Ossetian war and US Russian agreement to reduce Nuclear Arms

Article is incorrect in stating Russians won this war. After a week of conflict, a French brokered peace agreement was signed. Particularly as many in the west threatened Russia with military action. Russia did maintain troops in an outpost inside Georgia but these troops were to be considered as peacekeepers. Russia did also recognise South Ossetia and Abkhazia as independent states, which drew further protests and anger from the West and Georgia.

The article cites it was in April 2009 when the US and Russians agreed to reduce their nuclear arms by a third. This date is incorrect. It was in April 2010 when this agreement was made and this can be viewed on this link and many others like it. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-12056024

In other events that Russia were involved in was the Spy scandel where ten Russian spies were deported from America (including Anna Chapman). It was also found Russian spies had used fake passports to gain access into some countires. One country where Russia utilized forged passports was Ireland. There is another timeline by the BBC which extends further than this timeline (which goes up to April 2009). The BBC timeline may be amalgamated into this one as it gives important events up to February 2011. I would do it myself but I don't have the time at the moment. Communist Manifesto[edit]

Seeing the importance of communism in Russian history, I think it would benefit the timeline to include the date for the publication of Marx's Communist Manifesto (as it is seen as the seminal book for the ideology). Though Marx was German and it wasn't published in Russia, there are things already in the timeline that, while not taking place in Russia, are directly related (such as Germany creating the polish buffer state after WWI and so on). Weird image[edit]
