Industry (economics)Economic branch – More unambiguous name, similar to article about an economic sector Ecomt (talk) 15:33, 6 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I can see the logic, but I would personally lean against it. My entire reason is simply that while "branch" is used in our definition and others, it's not really a synonym. Without even more context, an "economic branch" could mean several other things, whereas "sector" & "industry" are the go-to terms for their respective classification levels. --Zar2gar1 (talk) 01:16, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@LaundryPizza03: This article used to be the primary topic until it was moved a few weeks ago and the disambiguation page took its place at Industry. Rreagan007 (talk) 15:59, 8 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The Ngram is not really helpful since industry is such a common word with multiple meanings. But comparing economic branch with economic industry shows a preference IMHO for economic branch. But overall I‘d prefer the current title industry. --S.K. (talk) 20:02, 8 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose any move I dabbed 2,000 incoming links to "industry" dab page. I concluded that there is no primary topic. However, I think that this topic is most commonly referred to as "industry". (t · c) buidhe 05:04, 22 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose No indication that the new name is used outside Wikipedia. Dimadick (talk) 09:24, 25 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Industry (economics)Economic industry – My previous proposal was closed with no consensus. OK. But in that discussion Rreagan007 proposed to move the article to Economic industry per a WP:NATURALDISAMBIGUATION. I think that it would be a great and much better title than current one.
