My changes[edit]

Hey all, just corrected a line where it says Trunks saves Earth from Mecha-Frieza. Goku later says that he was prepared to use IT to get there in time, so Trunks actually didn't save anyone. When you think about it, this is why Trunks' past doesn't have everyone dying by Frieza's hands. Although Trunks never knew this, Goku must have stepped in and saved them.

Also added the point about Trunks delivering that heart medication to Goku in addition to his warning. Otherwise the warning would have been for naught, since Goku would be dead then anyway.

Some brave soul (with more time than me) still has to put up Chibi Trunks, and perhaps the Mirai Trunks that Cell killed in the future (when he stole the Time Machine).

Removed info on 'Plan to Eradicate the Saiya-Jins'[edit]

It didn't really belong in there in the first place. It wasn't a TV special. 'Plan to Eradicate the Saiya-Jins' was a series of DBZ games released by a company called PlayDia which used anime FMV sequences to progress the story.

--T-Smith 14:45, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually this was an ova release on VHS back in 1993 ,exclusive to japan, but, It was based on the series of games you spoke of.

Merge[edit]

I think we should "fuse" this article into Chibi Trunks. What do you think?

  • I don't think it would be easy to follow; they really are separate characters with different histories and personalities. I don't really like the naming conventions (difficult for non-fans, perhaps), but this seems like the best way. JRP 11:24, 27 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I don't think it's a good idea either. Chibi is completely different, as said above. They lead two different lives, and trying to make a single article detailing the lives of both of them would be not only difficult to write, but even harder to read. --T-Smith 19:18, 28 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I disagree as well. One could argue that Mirai Gohan is included in Gohan's article, but his appearance was limited to flash backs and one TV special while Mirai Trunks was a prominent character throughout the entire Cell Saga.
  • No way. Future Trunks had too many important contributions to the series. They're seperate now, and that's the way they should stay.

The capsule corp patch?[edit]

Which arm is the patch on? Oo Its always on a different arm. KojiDude 06:29, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

On both. - Air.

No, it's on his left side. Sarujo (talk) 15:35, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Change the title?[edit]

Allo
So, personally, I normally prefer to go with the english names in articles when an english version is available.
However, for years, I've always almost exclusively seen his name as either Mirai Trunks, or simply Trunks. "Future Trunks" seems to come up so infrequently that I have to wonder if the article should be listed as "Mirai Trunks", with a redirect from "Future Trunks". This would also be more consistent with the fact that the 'present trunks' is listed as Chibi Trunks. Bladestorm 01:02, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. For some reason someone decided to move the article from Mirai Trunks to Future Trunks (probably because they're a dubbie of some sort who refuses to use correct names). I would support a move back to the correct name.
Daishokaioshin 01:08, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bebi?[edit]

Since there's a small section on the question of what happened to Buu in the alternate future, should there be one about Bebi?

No. We don't need any more speculation, and trying to figure out where a non-canon character would fit into an alternate time-line would be exactly that.
Daishokaioshin 03:05, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. I was just thinking of something like "There's no way of knowing if Bebi would come after Mirai Trunks' Earth but if he did he would easily possess everyone on it, including Trunks, as that world is far weaker than the main one." But I guess you're right. Noneofyourbusiness 15:15, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect statement[edit]

The artical says that it is unknown how future trunks will react to meeting himself but in episode 117 trunks saw himself when he saved his mother and baby trunks from Dr. Gero. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.132.230.83 (talkcontribs) .

The error should be removed! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.132.237.214 (talkcontribs) .

I'm sure the comment meant if he meant Kid Trunks from the Buu Saga on, and not his baby self. His baby self can't carry on a conversation and doesn't have much of a personality like Buu Saga Trunks.

So why is this statement even relevant...? I mean, that never even came up in the series.[[User:SxeFluff|--SxeFluff 04:38, 14 October 2007 (UTC)]] 23:43, 14 October 2007[reply]

Super Saiyan 2nd Grade aka Ascended Super Saiyan[edit]

This form should also be present. Future Trunks clearly transforms into it when he wants to stop Cell from absorbing Android 18, when he discovered where she was hiding. This can be seen in both the manga and the anime... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 85.145.149.85 (talkcontribs) .

Ultra Super Saiyan[edit]

Future Trunks' first time to show us his USSJ form was NOT during the Cell Games, it was after Cell reached his perfect form and after Perfect Cell had knocked Vegeta out. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 85.145.149.85 (talkcontribs) .

That was the third stage of Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 3rd Grade. The first time he used Ultra Super Saiyan, a.k.a Super Saiyan 2nd Grade, was when he attempted to hold back Cell absorbing Android 18. After Cell reached his perfect form and knocked out Cell, it was then that he decided to transform into Super Saiyan 3rd Grade. Son Gohan (talk) 17:01, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Height[edit]

Shouldn't we add a comment about is height? He's got to be about 5'6-5'9 as he was as tall as Goku when they first met & after coming out of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber he became even taller. Son of Kong

No. Look at Broly and Bojack's talk pages. There shouldn't be a size section unless you're positive that it is the exact height. It also needs to be official. "5'6-5'9" is an estimate, original research, and speculation.--KojiDude (viva la BAM!) 15:06, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I AM positive. When he first met Goku he was two inches shorter, making him a legit 5'6 when he first came back in time. After his training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, he was at least two inches and was Goku's height because once they faced each other they were the same height. Read the manga. Son of Kong

No speculation, No assumptions, No original research. -- bulletproof 3:16 16:17, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

History of Trunks[edit]

Should the article mention his personality/actions when he was a child? Or wou;d that fall under Kid Trunks?--KojiDude (viva la BAM!) 18:56, 17 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This one. It's about the entity of this Trunks. Otherwise, we would have to put the GT present Trunks in this one. Nemu 18:59, 17 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia questions[edit]

Just something that can maybe be put into a trivia question if anyone puts one, I may do it myself but here it goes.

In the History of Trunks video, Mirai Trunks trys to become a Super Saiyan may time but does accompish this until Gohan is killed by #17 and #18.
In the manga that shows the background of Mirai Trunks, Trunks is already a Super Saiyan training with Gohan before Gohan's final fight with the Androids.

Any thoughts??Heat P 03:27, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia sections are to be avoided per Wikipedia:Embedded list though. -- bulletproof 3:16 03:33, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh!!(surprise me) ok just something that i thought you guys should know, thats all.Heat P 03:20, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Movies?[edit]

Shouldn't we add some parts about the Trunks' roles in the movies somewhere? Other characters have that area. Keyblade Mage 17:16, 23 December 2006 (UTC) Keyblade Mage[reply]

Super Saiyan 2[edit]

I beleive at least the theory of trunks becoming a super saiyan 2 should be included seeing him in an entirely new look when he defeated the andriods and cell. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.192.209.95 (talkcontribs)

I don't. And having an "entirely new look" does not mean someone is using SSJ2. There is no evidence to support this "theory", he never used it, it stays gone.
Daishokaioshin 05:30, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well what other form could it be huh? It was never used by him before added with the fact that his hair was much more stuck up than previously seen yet at the same time no extreme muscle mass increase! Using just "super saiyan" when describing him defeating the andriods is also inaccuate! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.196.59.15 (talkcontribs).
Just because his hair is more pointed up does not mean he was SSJ2, also was there any presance of the lightning effect assocated with SSJ2? NO! in english he WAS using REGULAR SSJ. Jeez! DBZROCKS 01:53, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Since when di a simple visual effect like lightning matter and besdes when the others FIRST reached that level when did they ever have the lightnig effect? Also it could not possibly be regular because he tried that, remember? It kinda did'nt work out well and thus due to the fact that it matches no other super saiyan form (like I sad Regular is too weak to match) it should be declared ssj2 when he defeated the androids and cell.

Wikiproject Dragon Ball already had concencus on this. Adding super saiyan 2 will be deleted and marked as speculation. DBZROCKS 00:37, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"I beleive at least the theory of trunks becoming a super saiyan 2 should be included seeing him in an entirely new look when he defeated the andriods and cell. " - It's called inconsistency with the artists in the anime part, and for the Manga. He is older, so he would look different.

Um... if a simple visual affect shouldn't matter why should hair... I mean, with Gohan his hair changed alot. But then so did his strenght.[[User:SxeFluff|--SxeFluff 04:48, 14 October 2007 (UTC)]] 23:53, 14 October 2007[reply]

Trunks based on The Terminator movies?[edit]

Is it possible that Future Trunks was loosely based on Kyle Reese or maybe John Connor from The Terminator movies? I've noticed some comparisons to the 1st movie during the Trunks Saga and the Android Saga, but I'm not sure if this was proven yet. Vic729 02:32, January 6th, 2007 (UTC)

I know of no evidence that supports this. I have never heard or read anything which indicates that Akira Toriyama made Trunks based on Terminator characters, in the Dragon Ball series. There are lots of time-travellers who try to change the future. Pointing out one source which is vaguely similar and saying it has anything to do with Trunks, when there has been no statement from Akira Toriyama on the matter, is a bit laughable. If you can find an interview where he specifically states that Trunks was based on characters from the Terminator series, then mentioning the fact briefly would be justified. Otherwise, if you are suggesting we add such to the article without factual backing, I would have to say that is a bad idea. If you are just asking because you are curious, then I would like to point out that this is not a forum, and is for discussing the article.
Daishokaioshin 05:39, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I'm aware that this place ISN'T a forum and I'm not suggesting to add this to the article without proof. I just wanted to point out that there was a lot of fan speculation about this, despite the fact that there has been no official word from Toriyama himself.I tried searching about this but with no luck. It's possible that the minor comparisons are coincidental, despite the fact that there are a lot of time-traveling based stories.

What happened to the article?[edit]

All it has now is his personality. There's no history about the character or any information about what he did throughout his appearance in Dragon Ball Z. Did someone delete it randomly? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 4.252.212.47 (talkcontribs).

Technique List??[edit]

What happened to the list of his techniques? This site was the only one that had all of Mirai Trunks' unique abilities in one spot. Who took them out? Dragonranger 00:05, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It was taken out because it isn't encylopedic and attack lists are against wikipedia policey. If you have an urge to see the list you can go to the history tab and the list of attacks is probably in a later revision. DBZROCKSIts over 9000!!! 00:21, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Future Trunks timeline[edit]

I was thinking that it would be a good idea to include a picture of the alternate timelines created by Trunk's time travels. I'm not 100% sure how all timelines were formed, and how they manage the idea of how he went to his(?) future having changed the past (like in "back to the future") This is just an idea, i don't know if it's possible to do in a clear way, i'm sure you guys know more than me about this subject.
I recently found this video that i think it's very accurate about this timelines. Tell me what you think... http://youtube.com/watch?v=mGuHzVkLlno

Appearance[edit]

There's no mention that his color scheme is different in both the manga and anime. In the watercolor images within the manga he's featured with Steel blue jacket with a red Capsule Corporation patch. In the anime his jacket is han purple with a white Capsule Corporation patch.

Also his pants are not black, their grey with the exception of the B/W pages within the manga which depict both tank top and pants as black. Sarujo (talk) 19:37, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
