Article needs more fact-checking and probably should be about double or triple the current length given the importance of the subject. Material about his youth is vague. There seems to have been an unsuccessful attempt to make Mehmet ruler when he was 12 but this will need researching. "His ingenius conquest" [spelling] needs elaboration (Constantinople was conquered because somebody literally left the door unlocked, by accident or on purpose is still unknown). Add more info about his actual rule, including a fairly remarkable degree of religious tolerance. There are conflicting reports about whether "the Conqueror" was added by subjects or by Mehmet himself (or maybe both).

Reasons for changes: Most sources give May (not March) as month of death. Spelling of Constantinople to match Wikipedia entry. End of Ottoman Empire changed to 1923 to match Wikipedia and other sources. Father's name had "Khan" removed and "II" added to match other sources. Successor's name added.
