G'day J, welcome to Wikipedia. I'm grabbing first post on your talk page.  ;) If you haven't already found it, there's a tutorial on how to edit on wikipedia, and you can also introduce yourself at the new users page should you feel like it. If you have any questions, you can ask at the help desk, or just quiz me.

There's also a special Wikipedia:WikiProject Melbourne for dealing with content about Melbourne and its surrounds. You may find it interesting reading, and you'd be most welcome to join and contribute if you wish.

The Humungous Image Tagging Project[edit]

Hi. You've helped with the Wikipedia:WikiProject Wiki Syntax, so I thought it worth alerting you to the latest and greatest of Wikipedia fixing project, User:Yann/Untagged Images, which is seeking to put copyright tags on all of the untagged images. There are probably, oh, thirty thousand or so to do (he said, reaching into the air for a large figure). But hey: they're images ... you'll get to see lots of random pretty pictures. That must be better than looking for at at and the the, non? You know you'll love it. best wishes --Tagishsimon (talk)

Barnstar[edit]

The Original Barnstar
For your efforts in cleaning up The Exclusive Brethren article, as irksome as it must have been! Thanks for the good work. Wikipeterproject 11:33, 22 January 2007 (UTC) [reply]
Very impressed by your work there - the ABC Religion report ran a story on them this week - more or less repeating what you have in the article anyways SatuSuro 23:23, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

Hi there, I noticed you uploaded Image:Christmas Island red crab.jpg to Wikipedia. Would it be possible for you to move your images (luckily there are only 3!) to Wikimedia Commons? All you need to do is create an account there (if you don't have one already) and upload away. They will then be available for all WM projects to use. I've uploaded all my old images there myself, and hope you will do the same. Let me know if you need any help (e.g. categorizing them); I have an account there with the same name. Thanks. Speedy deletion of Image:Robber crab.jpg[edit]

A tag has been placed on Image:Robber crab.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I8 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is available as a bit-for-bit identical copy on the Wikimedia Commons under the same name, or all references to the image on Wikipedia have been updated to point to the title used at Commons.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Robber crab.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. ЭLСОВВОLД talk 14:27, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
