I propose this page be renamed to something more accurate, such as List of obsolete ISO 3166-1 country codes, or (my preferred option) that its content to moved to ISO 3166. (There are also obsolete FIPS country codes, etc.) -- SJK

Yes, it could be moved to ISO 3166 for now. But I think the code lists on that page should be moved to separate pages at some point anyway (e.g. ISO 3166 alpha-2 codes and ISO 3166 alpha-3 codes). --Zundark, 2001 Dec 20
