WTF, mate?[edit]

Is this even real? It could make more sense, convery more information.

Guardian quotation not on the web?[edit]

This quotation about consensus and skeptics evidently dates back to before the above 2005 comments. I had to look hard to find the Guardian story to use for the cite, but I found it at

I will also fix some formatting problems of mismatched quotation marks.

There are two more recent Guardian web articles quoting Dr. Pope:

"Extreme drought will spread, warn forecasters" Ian Sample, science correspondent Wednesday October 4, 2006 [1]

[Climate change] "is something we need to take extremely seriously. Even if droughts get only half as bad as we predict it will have a tremendous impact."

and

"Experts debate global impact of greenhouse gases", Guardian Unlimited, Tuesday February 1 2005

Vicky Pope, head of the Met Office's climate prediction programmme, said emissions had been produced since the industrial revolution but that technology had only recently been able to reveal what has happened over the last century, and predict what might happen in the future.

"Even the most conservative predictions will give us substantial climate changes by the end of the century," she said.
