Unnecessary subcategory—most art museums include different media, and I don't believe there are too many that cater just to photography. They can all just be included in the proper country subcategory of Category:Art galleries and museums without anything really being lost, unless we also want Category:Painting museums, Category:Sculpture museums... • Yes, but how many of those have articles at this time? -- Graham ☺ | Talk 10:29, 14 Sep 2004 (UTC)
    • I don't know, but the policy as I understand it is generally not to delete categories that are proper categories but simply not populated yet.--Samuel J. Howard 03:50, Sep 15, 2004 (UTC)
  • Hmm... I've changed my mind from delete to keep, though I would like to see it limited to museums devoted to photography. MOMA was included, but is not a "photography museum"—it's a museum that includes photography. I see a difference in this, and I also would like to keep the articles on such large and broad museums uncluttered by a dozen categories representing every medium of art that they include in their collections. • Perhaps the most useful, at least from the perspective of a photographic researcher is Museums with signifigant Photographic Collections Rpd9803 (talk) 00:22, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
