Pink film link[edit]

"Pink films should be distinguished from adult videos and non-Japanese sexploitation films." The japanese page linked to here says that pink movies are porno movies. Actually the porno movie page in the japanese wikipedia is a redirect to pink film.

yes, but softcore, and with some artistic merit. Also, adult videos are direct-to-video by definition and usually hardcore, hence the distinction. --Ajshm 08:40, 31 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Move to Pink film[edit]

I think this page should be moved to Pink film as that's the more likely search terms to be used. A Google search turns up the following:

  • pinku eiga: 31,800 raw, 18,700 with phrase in quotes
  • pink film: 66,200,000 raw, 33,400 with phrase in quotes

"Pink film" is clearly the more well-used term in this case. Thoughts? ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 18:52, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you are still interested in this question, Nihonjoe, I was surprised that when I entered "Roman porno" I get "Pinku eiga." I'd think "Roman porno," and "Pinky violence" deserve separate articles. Though maybe they belong under the larger "Pinku eiga" umbrella until they are written. As far as "Pinku eiga/Pink film," I've always used and heard the former, as does probably anyone who knows what they are. On the other hand, this is the English Wikipedia, so the term most widely used in English should be used. Dekkappai 23:55, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I moved it to Pink film and it was reverted immediately. I then did it a 2nd time in order to take me to the move request page but, to my surprise, the system is not set up to prevent edit wars. Anyway, any further dissent and maybe we'll do a proper vote with a survey and all that. In addition my rational is WP:NC(CN) and WP:UE. --Doctor Sunshine 14:48, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Link problem?[edit]

I've attempted to add a link, under "Films," to the article on Wife to be Sacrificed I just started, but it's not working for some reason. Am I missing something? It seems to work everywhere except in this article. Help would be appreciated. Dekkappai 23:50, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Turns out there was a stray, invisible character in the link. Nevermind. Dekkappai 00:13, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Should be distinguished from.[edit]

"Pink films should be distinguished from adult videos and non-Japanese sexploitation films." Could someone please distinguish it for me? --Gbleem 06:18, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Definition of pink film[edit]

The current way this article defines "pink films" is completely different from the definition in the Japanese wikipedia article. At this Japanese dictionary website, I find "デジタル大辞泉の解説 ピンク‐えいが 性的なことを主題にした成人映画。". Translation: Explanation from the "Digital Daijisen": "pink eiga" "An adult film whose main theme is sexual". Looking at this old revision of the page, that was what it used to say. The current lead section redefines the term, but it does not provide very clear evidence that this is the majority viewpoint. Is the current article really reflecting the majority point of view, or is it giving undue prominence to a minority opinion? I am also concerned by the labelling of non-erotic films such as Lady Snowblood as "pink films". Mysterious Island (talk) 00:05, 1 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
