Prez[edit]

Who was Turkish president in the years 1980 -- 1982 ??

No president, there was a military coup in 1980, general Kenan Evren rules without election during two years.

Put the pecentace of the vote for presedentence in turkey should be added.[edit]

Titles for the presidents?[edit]

What's all this about refering to Mustafa Kemal as "Marshal" and the rest of the presidents of military background as Generals? Itis, in my opinion, utter tosh, most unnecessary. Other pages listing presidents of countries don't use titles (see List of Presidents of the French Republic and unless Ivan Bogdanov can justify his many edits I'm going to revert them back to the last edit by Deliogul. Mikedaventry 21:17, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Revision made. Mikedaventry 16:49, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Because he was a Marshal?! Atatürk and Çakmak were the only people to reach that rank in the history of Turkey. Deliogul 21:10, 2 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Atatürk did not used his Marshal as a title commonly. He was most refered as Gazi Mustafa Kemal or Gazi Kemal Atatürk (Gazi meaning veteran) --88.241.243.121 (talk) 16:17, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

My recent edit[edit]

Here's an explanation of my recent edit:

1 - Acting presidents. This was removed several days ago by an anonymous user without explanation, II see no reason why they shouldn't be there and have reinstated them.

2 - Colours. I disagre with Kaygtr over the colours, because they distinguish from the acting presidents. However, his revision was made after the acting presidents were removed. Perhaps his opinion has changed - I have returned the colours and key for now, if anyone disagrees let's discuss it here.

I have therefore returned the page to the edit by Ilse@ on August 29th, but have retained the Military and Chief justice tags that were added since then. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mikedaventry (talkcontribs) 11:28, 2 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Current page looks like Nickelodeon. I think we may use gray for acting presidents and another single color for presidents. What do you think? As i have mentioned before, the political background of presidents are listed, so we do not need different cell colors. Kaygtr 08:09, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Gray for acting presidents, red for military background and green or blue for civil presidents. This trio would do just fine. Deliogul 08:13, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What about seperating acting presidents into a subheader? Take a look. This version is better, i think.Kaygtr 09:40, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is good. Thanks. Deliogul 21:19, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. The whole point is that you get to see them in chronological order, it is illogical to separate them. For ideas of how the page can look, I refer you to either President of Germany, where the presidents are coloured by party of origin; List of Presidents of the French Republic, where the presidents are listed with the acting leaders in a smaller type; or President of Ireland, where a small coloured box indicates their party of origin. The precedent has been set by other, more developed pages. I'm not going to get into a silly match of editing pages according to how we prefer them to look all without consultation. I would prefer it if others were similarly sensitive. Why not discuss how it should look without recklessly going in for the edit? Mikedaventry 08:51, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:PresidentCGursel.jpg[edit]

Image:PresidentCGursel.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

Images in certain lists of heads of states[edit]

Several prime minister, president, emperor and other monarch lists have different images (other than the images used on the main articles) to display the person in charge, could you please leave it like this? there is nothing wrong with a little variety, in fact I do believe this is widely supported on Wikipedia, just like the use of different types of English (American and British English for example). 77.166.30.3 (talk) 10:19, 27 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You have a good point there, thank you. Redman19 (talk) 12:28, 27 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have a problem with variety, I just tend to follow some consistency. Its usual to have the same image of an officeholder both in the list and the main article. As you said by yourself, "Several" of them are exceptions to this rule, but majority have the same image in both places... Anyway, I don't have some problem with your preferred images, except for the image of Ataturk. An image should clearly show the person it represents, and this one isn't on that line. Your image would be acceptable if there are just a few available images of Ataturk here, but there are many other images of him, and I'll choose a different one for the article. --Sundostund (talk) 16:11, 27 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I moved that image to the main article, I agree with Sundostund here, let's end the revert war, dobro vece my friend and thank you for your explanation. Redman19 (talk) 19:33, 27 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Redman19: Dobar dan, prijatelju :) I think we should create a crop image of Ataturk out of this pic - File:Ataturk visited Adana.jpg. As it seems to me, it would represent him better than the current pic in the article (its rather dark and not really clear)... If you have some other idea about a potential crop image, feel free to share it. --Sundostund (talk) 16:22, 29 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I think I have the best one. Check it out. Karamanli86 (talk) 15:41, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Karamanli86: Not bad, although it would be better if he doesn't have a top hat... Try to find a pic without the hat. --Sundostund (talk) 15:46, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks man, I will do my best, the IP adress 77.166.30.3 belongs to me, I made an account because others use that IP adress too and some were vandalizing. Karamanli86 (talk) 08:19, 31 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
