European National Socialism[edit]

Reasons for deletion: 1. The article is entirely redundant, given the much better one we have on Nazism. 2. Written in very bad English (this factor on its own would only be reason for cleanup, but it supports the argument for deletion). 3. Original work and virtually 100% POV. The article describes one person's opinion on the history and development of "national socialism", an opinion which is not supported by any major historian.

  • Delete I don't agree with anon's objection 1 (Nazism just describes Nazism in Germany and there must be a place for a wider discussion of it, or with 2 (which anon agrees isn't a reason for deletion. On objection 3, POV isn't a reason for deletion either. But I do agree with the bit of objection 3 that it appears to be original work - and absent evidence to the contrary, I vote delete for this reason. Jongarrettuk 16:03, 3 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep-ish, but cleanup. I'd like to see some alternatives to Nazism, let's see how this develops before we vote on it. Worst case : move to Talk:Nazism/European National Socialism while people edit it for now. Kim Bruning 13:44, 4 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep, probably rename. We need an article on the topic of Nazi parties outside of Germany although this one is in serious need of NPOV-ification. Put it on the cleanup list & notify the usual editors of Nazism & let them have at it. I'm not saying this is going to be easy. Wile E. Heresiarch 14:37, 4 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • semi-keep, but I could be convinced. I don't think the redundancy is with Naziism, but rather with Fascism, which contains a long list of other Fascist regimes; it may be that more needs to be said about these brief entries. --jpgordon 15:57, 4 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete, original research, redundant with Fascism. --Improv 21:45, 4 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Couldn't bring myself to read it closely. Looks to me like we should move it to somewhere subordinate to Talk:Fascism with a link from Talk:Fascism and a suggestion to "mine" it, but it doesn't look to me like a useful article in its own right. -- Jmabel 01:06, Oct 6, 2004 (UTC)
  • Support moving to a subpage of a talk page and figuring out whats not redundant. siroχo 06:03, Oct 6, 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete, original research - there is something useful here, struggling to get out, but I don't think it will make it. Start again! --Cje 09:40, 6 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. The title is mis-leading and the premise is wrong. It tries to create a historical "National Socialist" movement, even though groups using that term had no commonalities or intellectual currency with each other. It produces many factual errors and distortions by trying to make history fit in with its POV. It conflates parties and groups that called themselves "National" in the sense of "nationwide", with those that were actually "nationalist". It isn't even an account of different uses of the term "National Socialism" - it's different terms which have been translated into English as "National Socialism", often obscuring specific meanings of words. -- Gregg 21:50, 9 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. What's worth keeping is derivative of the National Socialism and fascism articles .AndyL 00:09, 10 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Anon Comment: There are already two existing articles which disambiguate the various uses of the term outside of Germany, both of the Nazi type and of other types: National Socialist Party and National Socialism (disambiguation).
